11. testing limits

I walk into the room, this time it's filled with armoured guards lining the walls holding batons and tasers? I look across the room and find a fire extinguisher and fire blankets laid out. What the hell is this?

I walk to the middle of the room and stand beside the metal bed across from Dr Martin as he takes a seat on the rolly chair, grabbing his paper work. Malek slowly crosses the room and stands within ear shot and Dr Martin begins talking.

"Ivy, as you know Malek is fire, your domineering sign. Today we want to test out what the means" he grins and I look over at Malek but he gives nothing away.

"Well let's start" he says before nodding to the guards as they start to walk closer to Malek.

Malek then moves towards me and stands beside me when Dr Martin lifts his hand, halting the guards. What Is happening?

"Ivy I want you to form a vine wrapping around Maleks forearm" he says adjusting his glasses.

I look up at Malek but he's too busy keeping an eye on the guards.

I shut my eyes slowly and begin to form a vine wrapping around his wrist and when I look it's dark and wilting against him, it looks dead.

"Is that you doing it Malek or are they burning naturally?" Dr Martin asks inquisitively

Malek then lifts his hand from his side and suddenly it burns up and falls off. Clearly that's him saying that he wasn't trying before.

Dr Martin nods and writes something down.

"Follow me" Dr Martin says standing up as he walks towards the stairwell to the terrarium

"Get Jesse" he says as we're walking to one of the guards who leaves out the main doors to get her?

We walk down the stairwell and out into the terrarium, only moments later Jesse appears through the doors with a few guards with fire extinguishers.

"Ivy I want u to try and cover Malek in vines, really try to take him down and Malek I want you to stop her" he says standing back.

I look at Malek but he doesn't look away from Dr Martin, I shift my focus over to Jesse and she nods once.

I look back up at Malek and start to Chanel my energy as I try to cover him in vines, soon he's fairly covered as the vines go brown against him, they still don't burn up?

"Malek" Dr Martin says prompting him to burn them off but he doesn't?

"Torch him" Dr Martin says suddenly and a few guards step forward, one throwing gasoline the other a match and suddenly he lights up, all the vines quickly withering away. I step back in horror as his entire body burns infront of me, all but his clothes? What kind of fire resistant material?? He looks at me as I stare in shock at him literally blazing but he doesn't move, not even a flinch.

"Ivy, more!" Dr Martin says and I regain focus and I try to cover him but it's completely useless, they immediately burn up.

"Grow it on the ground" Dr Martin says standing back

I focus on the plants around me and stand growing tall grass and bushes.

"Malek, burn them up as fast as you can" Dr Martin says but Malek doesn't, saw that coming. Slowly his flames reduce and he's left with ash on his skin.

Suddenly Dr Martin lifts his hand and signals for a guard holding a electric baton to step forward

I watch as Malek turns in anticipation, a small ball of flame growing in his palm, the man with the taser then quickly jabs Malek before he has a chance to burn him, making Malek fall to the ground in pain.
