No sign of him, when she opened the door
Only a present he bought the night before.
Shaped like a dove that likes to sing
Memories and pain along to bring.

She didn't believe when she heard it first
Thought a miracle would make it last.
Oath to protect the country forever
Leaving alone, his loving daughter.
Standing still beside his silent grave
She knew at heart, he had died brave.

So the colors slowly started to fade
As the sad goodbyes were made.
To remind her of his undying love
Remained only, the singing dove.
