𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑

Up in the high hills and mountains of Highfrost, it is a frigid 10 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the day with temperatures dropping below 0 at night. About a foot and a half of snow blankets the ground in most areas such as within the camp, though it is around three feet in other places. The lakes and most rivers of the land are also frozen over, so traverse them with extreme caution.

𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒

Word tends to travel fast around these parts and it has definitely reached the ears of the Highfrost Dires that Man has set up a village only a few miles from the territory. They are the ones that have not only been taking their kind over the years, they have apparently created these odd creatures out of them. 'Domesticated' dogs. A scouting report from a few soldiers has warned the Dire Queen, Svana, of an entire pack of these dogs about a mile off of the Highfrost border. All of these years thinking they were the only apex canines occupying these lands... False thoughts.

There is quite a bit of confusion, uncertainty, and unease shifting through the pack. However, there is no plan to venture out and confront these dogs just yet. The Dires are sticking around camp, most going about their day. The Master of the Hunt is set to organize a hunting party in hopes of finally taking down large enough prey to last the pack around a week.

𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑

Down within the lower valleys and forest, temperatures run at a slightly warmer 15 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and fall to around 4-6 degrees throughout the night. Snow still blankets the ground at approximately a foot and a half with major bodies of water being frozen solid.

𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒

It has been a couple of weeks or so since these dogs turned on their human 'companions' and fled into the wilderness. They have already come together and declared themselves as a pack, however, the established Council has yet to decide on a suitable candidate for Leader.

A new sense of freedom and positive energy flood the pack at the thought of this entire wild, frozen world at their paws to explore. Yet there is also a natural sense of caution and perhaps even anxiety for some. Unbeknownst to them, they have been spotted by the ancient Dires. Still, the Council and the pack have decided to set up camp in a small clearing within the forest. Patrols will need to be sent out in order to mark a temporary border, along with a hunting party.

After all, winter is an unforgiving season.
