Selena's POV:

I wake up to the sound of birds, magically singing a symphony in my ears. I groan and open my eyes slowly. Squinting from the bright sun, I sit up and rub my tired eyes. Great, another day of school. Sighing, I roll myself out of bed and stumbled to stand. Tiredly, I extend my arms, hearing them crack slightly.

Snapping my head at the clock, it was 7:30 am. I grab my phone from the night stand next to my bed and check for any messages. I smile, seeing a text from Alex: good morning sweetheart :) I'm picking you up at eight if that's alright.

Instantly text back with: I'll be ready :) can't wait to see you xox

I set my phone back on the night stand and made my way out of my room to the bathroom. Closing the door behind me, I started striping if my clothes. Feeling the cold air traveling my skin, I shiver slightly. With my clothes on the ground, I hope in the shower in no time. Hot water hit my body instantly--it felt amazing as it traveled my tanned skin.

But I just couldn't help but think about Justin. He and I had become pretty good friends in the last two weeks. I felt like I had known him for years. I was so comfortable around him and he was too around me.

A smile plasters on my face as remembered my night with Justin. I had the best time. I really enjoy having him around me. He just makes me so happy and I like surrounding myself with such great people.

After being in the shower for at least ten minutes, I move the shower curtain to the side and I get out, instantly wrapping myself in a towel.

Walking into my room, I close the door behind me and dried myself off. Obviously wearing underwear and a bra, I slip on a pair of ripped blue jeans and pull a white t-shirt over my head, causing my hair to crumple up in my face. Patting my t-shirt down, I removed the hair from my face. I then grab a beige cardigan from my closet and put it on, leaving it unbuttoned.

Still unpleased with my look, I throw on a brown scarf. I smile with satisfaction through the mirror and head to my makeup table in my room. I apply the same amount of makeup as I would everyday and soon enough, I was styling my hair.

With my hair naturally waving onto my shoulders, I stood up and reached for my phone to check the time, 7:55 it read.

My eyes widen at the time. Alex will be here any minute. I slip on a pair of brown ankle boots and rush out of my room with my school bag wrapped around my shoulder. I quickly go to brush my teeth and after I make my way down the stairs, I hear my parents talking in the living room.

"Good morning, sweetie," I hear my mom call out from the living room. I approach my parents and take a seat on one of the nearest chairs. "Good morning." I say with a smile.

"Is Alex picking you up this morning?" She asks, settling down her hot mug on the corner table.

"Yeah, he should be here any minute," I tell her.

"Good. I haven't seen Alex in a while. Is everything okay with you two?"

"Yeah, everything's great," I exclaim, "He's been working a lot so I just spend my spare time hanging out with Justin." I smile.

"I'm glad to hear that spending time with Justin. His mother was telling me he struggled a lot in Stratford. It's nice to see him recovering," my mom informs me. I guess she's spending a lot of time with Pattie to know this. She probably knows a lot more about Justin than I do. I want to know more about him.

I cross my legs together and ask, "What did he struggle with?"

"You need to ask him, Selena. It wouldn't be right if I told you." My phone then goes off, seeing a text from Alex: I'm here babe :)

"Is that him?"

"Yeah," I stand up smiling, "I'd love to chat but I have to leave."

"Have fun at school, sweetie."

"Bye mom."

"Bye."

I make my way out of the house and close the front door behind me. I walk down the steps and see Alex sitting in the driver's seat on his phone. He smiles through the whole conversation. I wonder who it is. Walking towards the car, my boots click against the black pavement. When Alex spots me, he hangs up and smiles at me. I reach for the car door and open it, saying, "Hey handsome."

"Hey gorgeous," he winks as I take a sit in the passenger's seat. He leans over and kisses me gently. I smile and caress his cheek with my right hand, feeling the electricity run through my body.

When he pulls away, I buckle my seat belt saying, "I missed you, Alex."

"I missed you too, baby," he drives off into the morning sun while lacing his hand with mine.

"Can we please hang out tonight?" I ask him with a pout on my lips. "We haven't done anything in so long. Even my mother is worried about our relationship..."

"I know but my boss called me this morning. Someone called in sick so I need to replace him," he replies, still focusing on the traffic.

"Really?" I faced him with another pout.

"Yes really. I'm sorry, Sel." The traffic light turns red and Alex stops. He looks at me with an apologetic expression on his figure.

"I guess I'll be hanging out with Justin again." I smile. "But you better sit with me at lunch then."

"Hanging out with Justin again?" He raises his tone. "Did I hear you clearly?"

"Yeah, I hung out with him yesterday. Is that a problem...?"

He chuckles, "C'mon, baby, let's not start this..." he mumbles the last part and presses the gas pedal to advance the car. Seriously Alex..?

"You brought it up and you' re still annoyed with him... Can't you just get over it like seriously, Alex."

"No I won't! First he wants to steal my spot on the team and now he's after my girlfriend! I'm allowed to be angry." He says harshly.

"He's not after me, Alex..."

"Yes that looser is after you!"

I felt hurt hearing those words coming out of Alex's mouth. He shouldn't judge Justin, Alex used to be just a normal guy like Justin until he joined the basketball team. He became supper popular like the rest of the basketball team. He's still the same Alex I know, but as days pass, I can see a slight change.

I release my hand from Alex's, leaving him confused.

Don't insult my friend's boy...

"Alex, he's not a loser..." I say a little sternly, defending Justin. I scoff and look out the window. My hands resting on my tights, I couldn't help but think about Justin. Does anyone else think he's a looser..?

"I'm not having this conversation with you." I mumble loud enough so Alex could hear me.

He pulls into the school parking lot and says, "Selena. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it--"

"If you didn't mean it, why did you say it?" I snap, opening the door of the car. As my feet land on the ground, I heard Alex sigh. "Oh and another thing: don't bother coming to see me and lunch," I slam the door before he could say anything else. I give him a glare before making my way in the school. Asshole...
