This moment was pure, unadulterated good.
But all good things must come to an end.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You unlocked your apartment door sporting the change of clothes you asked Spencer to bring you before you were discharged from the hospital.

You'd been there ten days. Ten days of sitting and listening to music and talking with Emily and Spencer and occasionally any other team members who'd join them.

Fractured ribs are supposed to take up to six weeks to fully heal, but you had to leave someday, and you were getting bored. Hotch told you you could go back to work whenever you wanted and that there was no rush, but you weren't allowed in the field. You had absolutely no problem with that.

You tossed your keys in the basket in the foyer, Spencer following close behind you. "You don't have to be here, y'know." You told Spencer matter-of-factly. You were honestly just so tired, you figured you'd just go to sleep after you'd had some dinner.

"I know, but..." Spencer sighed. "I don't want you to be alone. Unless that's what you want, I just – I don't think it's a very good idea. Being alone. It's just that... something might happen." You knew what something he was referring to. He didn't want you left to your own devices because you might hurt yourself again. And deep down, you knew that too.

You nodded and asked if Spencer wanted any takeout for dinner. "Sure, from where?" He responded. "Uh, what do you want?" You asked.
"Whatever you want." You weren't going to continue this charade – plus, you had just been released from the hospital – so you asked, "is fried chicken good?"

Spencer nodded as you pulled up Postmates and ordered fried chicken for the both of you from a small place a few blocks down.

The food came in no time. You opened the box with your food and ambled over to your couch, turning on Netflix. You were going to have a you evening, even if Spencer was here. You'd stopped caring.

"Ever watched community?" You asked as Spencer came to sit next to you, mouth full with a big bite of a piece of chicken. He shook his head as you started episode one. You hadn't watched the show in a while, so you figured you'd just start it over just because you could.

"There's a character that comes in during season six, and she looks terrifyingly like Emily. Like it's insane." You said through a bite.
"Well now I have to see." Spencer said, so you flipped to season six. You just explained to him the dynamic of the group, and that was about all he needed to know.
