Everything finally made sense.

The questions that had been long embedded in his mind, the questions that had remained unanswered for so long, were finally answered.

The Adeptus couldn't help but smile, as he involuntarily lets out a tiny giggle. His eyes were shining so brightly, and every fiber in his body radiated happiness. Memories of his past lifetimes with her came rushing back to his mind like a movie playing in a cinema.

And God, he fell in love with her over and over again.

(A/N: if you've noticed, xiao acts a bit different to you and to other characters, but that's because he has three sides: alatus, his corrupted side; xiao, his polite side to others but he's a tsundere to you; and ying, his lovely childish side:>)

And so he runs, and runs. Running faster than before, and his heart jumps in excitement at the thought of seeing the mortal. No. The past archon.

"How can you hex me if you're not even a mage?" She had said to him before in one of their lifetimes. "Though it appears that you've already casted a spell on me, and that's the reason why I'm so infatuated with you."

He grins at the memory, smiling like a lovesick fool. And maybe he was indeed a lovesick fool. But just for her, though. Only her.

"Xiao, I'm bored. Tell me a story." She demands in one of their lifetimes. The Adeptus just raised his eyebrow at her then, ignoring her as he continued to do his work. "Xiao!" She had whined to him before, encircling her arms around him as she pulled him down to the ground abruptly.

The Adeptus tried to stand up then, but he failed for the girl already found her way on his lap. He blushes, looking away as he tried his best to not be flustered when in fact, he was already feeling that way.

"The people will see us-." He trys to say, but she cuts him off by a quick kiss. She cheekily grins at him, "Are you perhaps afraid?"

He raises his eyebrows at her once again. "Afraid of what?"

"Of people seeing us!"

He smiles in amusement, leaning towards her. He softly bumps their noses together, "No. I just fear that they might feel jealous of us, and try to take you away from me."

Cheesy. He was so cheesy. But if being cheesy made his reason living happy, then by all means, he would continue to be cheesy.

"Can you sing me a song, Xiao?"  She asked one day, but of course, the Adeptus declined at first. "Please?" She begs, pouting. Xiao sighs, before finally agreeing.

He hears himself sing a lovely song in his mind, and he starts to run even faster as he remembers how she smiled at him back then while he sung.

"Rising up, you're the sun that my life seeks. You revive all my hopes, all of my dreams. I don't know what it is, what I'm feeling. Tell me if it's all real, am I dreaming?"

He finally sees the Inn, and stops in his tracks. He walks fast, careful to not catch any attention.

"A mirage painted blue, you're in my dreams. In a desert within, a priori. Tell me how do I breathe, I'm too happy. Everything seems so clear, and now I see."

He enters the Inn through the balcony, looking around to see if anyone was wandering around. Sneakily, he walks towards the direction of her room.

"Hear the oceans roar, and the distant waves. Go beyond the shore, dreaming far away. Every step I go, is a step to you. Take my hands now, you are the cause of my euphoria." He takes her hand, looking at her with a lovestruck expression. He repeats what he sung, "Take my hand now, you are the cause of my euphoria."

He reaches her room, and opens the door. And when he did, he saw her. She turned to look at him, her lips slightly parting as she takes in the sight of the familiar Adeptus. His usual fiery amber eyes was now glinting with joy, and she had never been more confused.

"Close the door now, when I'm with you, I'm in utopia."

The door closed, and he couldn't help but sigh in relief. His eyes crinkled a little bit as he smiles at her, and God when she smiled back, he swore that her smile looked like it was painted by Van Gogh.

"Finally, I found you."

"AND THEN, THEY FOUND EACH OTHER
