Chapter 3: Flying With Angel Brookside

Xia Brookside had been on a winning streak of late on NXT UK. Her latest win was earlier in the night, against Isla Dawn and now she would face Kay Lee Ray for the NXT UK Women's Championship in 2 weeks at Takeover: Blackpool 3. Inside the ring, she meant business. Always one step ahead of her opponents, not missing a beat. But as for her personal life, that had taken a serious nose dive. Her relationship with her boyfriend Sean was beyond repairing after she had caught him cheating numerous times, the latest being just over a month ago. Xia had then decided enough was enough, and told Sean it was over and surprisingly, he packed up his stuff and left without an arguement. Since then, Xia had found a great support system in Isla and a few others, but deep down, she yearned to be loved.

Isla: Can't stop thinking about him can you?

Xia: I thought he was the one.

Isla: You'll be fine, there's plenty of other guys out there. Even the guy you fancied before Sean...

Xia's eyes lit up with surprise.

Xia: You mean Josh?

Isla: Yep. Think about it - he's been single pretty much all his life, and if you ask me, I would. I mean, his body is a work of art, and his eyes... I could get lost in them.

Xia began to blush heavily.

Xia: Yeah, he's dreamy alright.

Without them noticing, Josh had come up behind them both and smiled at his mates, the NXT UK Tag Team Champions, Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster before surprising the girls.

Josh: (mouthing) Watch this... 3... 2... 1...

The boys smirked as he put a hand on both of their shoulders and scared the daylights out of them, so much so that Xia nearly fell off her chair, but Josh grabbed her hand and waist to stop that from happening and pulled her back to her feet.
Secretly, Xia had a thing for Josh ever since NXT UK first began, but since she had broken things off with Sean, she would back off for a bit until she thought she was ready to date again, whenever that would be. As Josh picked up Xia, they looked into each other's eyes for a bit until they caught themselves in the moment and pulled away from each other to compose themselves.

Isla: You're an idiot, you know that don't you?

Josh: What can I say, the boys convinced me! Anyway, I bring good news. Since I won the gauntlet match earlier tonight, I'm next in line to face Walter for the UK Championship, and next week, it's me and Xia vs Walter and Kay Lee Ray in a challengers vs champions match, cannot wait for that!

Xia then looked a little concerned at the mention of Walter's name.

Xia: Wait, Walter? He's dangerous, not to mention huge. You really think you can take him down?

Josh: I admit, it may be hard, but not impossible. I think it can be done.

He pulled up a chair and spoke away with the girls, before they had to go their separate ways until the mixed tag next week. On her way back, Xia couldn't help but think about Josh.

Xia: Next week, I'll make him mine.

One week later, on NXT UK...

Josh was loosening up and doing some last minute stretches as Xia had just left from a meeting with Johnny Saint and Sid Scala, who had approved a special segment she had planned for her and Josh after the match. She quickly found Josh and couldn't help but smile when she saw him.

Xia: Hey, stranger.

Josh: Hey yourself. You up for this?

Xia: Yeah, I'm excited. It's gonna be really fun tagging with you!
