❝ Sohee-ah, wake up! ❞
I fluttered my eyes open at the sound of my mom calling my name aloud, oddly as my whole body tensed up for no reason.
❝ Are you alright? ❞
I noticed my body reacting weirder than the usual times as I got up into a sitting position.
My ashy strands were a mess, sweat dripping down to the sharp jaw as my mouth exhaled heavy pants as if I ran away from something. Even worse, the migraine in my head was spinning in circles as it didn't seem to have a stop so easily.
❝ Mom...❞ , my trembling voice trailed as silence engulfed me and my mother.
Why did it sound so shaky?
❝ Sweetie, were you having a nightmare? ❞
A nightmare?
❝ N-No? ❞ My mind suddenly went blank, having no answers to respond at all.
Why was my heart running rapid for no reason?
I could barely find answers to my own questions, tripping in confusion over and over again.
The body of mine was feeling so exhausted as if I just finished running two hundred laps or something. The feeling of being chased by something really haunted my mind but the problem was... I didn't even know why my mind and body's behaving this way.
The grey sheets underneath me on the mattress felt too remote as if it wasn't the same bed I used to sleep on.
It felt too cold and I was not used to it.
For god's sake, I just wished for a peaceful sleep without being all tired and woke up like a marathon runner or something. How great.
