Chapter two- A Sudden Change

(A/N I just re-read this and realized I wrote 'Animagus' later on... multiple times... I had the wrong name in my head. I am aware an Animagus is something you make yourself into, But I'm not going to re-do this so not hate I'm not an idiot I'm making it correct further on in the book. Blame McGonagall, SHE used the wrong word. And no, I'm not telling you the correct word, read it later)

I lay in my bed in the orphanage, the strange letter sat on my bed-side table. I was not sure if it was a prank or not, I had read it over and over. at the bottom was a pretty convincing list of supplies needed for the school;

UNIFORM

First-year students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves ( hide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)

Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags.

1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)

1 set glass or crystal phials

1 telescope

1 set brass scales

Students may also bring, if they desire, an Owl OR Cat a OR a Toad.

PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICK

It seemed way to official to be a prank. But at the same time, Wizards? Magic? There was no possible way this was actually legit. A moment later after reading the letter over again, I heard a knock on the door.

The orphanage owner came in, and an old looking woman in a pointy hat and small circular glasses walked in. 

"Need something?" I asked them, trying to fight the urge to ignore them completely. This looked important.

"I believe you received a letter," The old lady said in a croaky voice.

"Yes I did," I said.

"Ah, yes. This may be all very confusing to you. I'm Professor Minerva McGonagall. I am a professor at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. I would normally hand you the letter personally, but my ride here was delayed so I sent my owl ahead," The old woman explained.
