😇Emi's P.O.V

"I think I'm gonna pee."

Mae rolled her eyes, pulling my hesitant body forward. It was an amusing sight to see us walking side by side, her hand wrapped around my arm.

Mae's 5'0 ft. frame just reached around an inch shorter than my shoulders, her expression childlike and giddy.

She was very excited, even more than me. When I gave her my approval, Mae was already on her feet and sorting through the dresses on the cabinet.

I felt shy in the dress that she made me wear, the dress had a u-shape top that showed a hint of my cleavage and flowed down on my knees. It was a pastel green color that contrasted nicely on my light brown skin.

My hair were in its natural gentle waves and rested on my back freely. I couldn't help but push a strand behind my ear, my heart beating nervously.

Much to my amazement, I found out that we were staying in the castle. Royalty lived here and I'm given the chance to meet a King.

Not just any king but a Lycan one, apparently there are two more that I didn't get a chance to meet.

I tried not to gape at how beautiful and majestic the interior is, there were royal guards stationed in each corner.

They didn't stare at us nor did I feel their stares when we passed by. Their body was poised straight but their expression wasn't withdrawn and is alert.

Mae told me that that the royal guards and warriors were consist of mixed lycans and werewolves. They were chosen from packs and undergoes strenuous training and then assigned a role depending on their strength.

"Only the best are assigned as royal guards and it is a very honoring job." Mae said, her eyes briefly flickering to one of the guards we passed by.

"Every job is an honor for them, they don't discriminate here about the ranks and tries to uplift one another instead. It's a very kind community," She smiled, her eyes gleaming with proud.

When I asked that if its okay that stay here, Mae's answer got me confused. She told me that I had every right to be here and that I had to stay here for the mean time while they try to find out what indeed killed the gifted.

Mae only gave me a sly smile when I asked her about what she meant on the first sentence and left it like that.

I couldn't help but feel grateful towards her/them, they didn't even knew me but they took great lengths to protect me, an insider.

When we finally stopped in front of two huge mahogany doors, my hands were sweating profusely.

Yeah, cold sweat literally pours out of my hand when I'm nervous.

"Take a deep breath Emi." Mae mused out, her lips in a half-smile."You look like you're gonna pass out."

"I f-feel like p-passing out." I corrected, wiping my clammy hand on dress."I d-don't know why I'm so n-nervous."
