Viren Khanna

On the same day evening, our sangeet was being held. After the Mehendi ceremony, we reached our home to get ourselves ready for the evening. Taking a long warm bath, I came outside the bathroom, with a bathrobe around me. I was skimming through my closet which had all my wedding rituals outfits hanging in them.

I took out my sapphire-colored plain sherwani which had a golden-colored border, which also had a jacket the same length as the sherwani. The jacket had numerous golden embroidered designs on them with lower parts consisting of motifs. I had paired them with golden-colored trousers.

After checking myself for one last time, I headed downstairs to check on others. This time the sangeet was taking place in a private hall where we can accommodate the huge crowd of our families. When I reached the hall, I saw Daksh talking to someone asking about the arrangements. He was dressed in asymmetrical wine-colored sherwani and paired it with black pants.

All my cousins have already reached the venue. It was us who needed to reach. Then I saw my grandparents coming downstairs. Dadu was looking at dadi with all the love he had for her. And dadi was blushing to whatever he was saying. I turned to see Daksh too looking at them, with a small smile on his face.

"Daksh are your parents coming today?", I asked him. His parents reached Mumbai yesterday. They left for Delhi since Daksh's cousin had some problems, so they couldn't attend my engagement and Mehendi rituals.

"Yeah, Vee they're coming. And it seems they can't wait to meet you and Akruti. Even now they keep asking me how did Akruti manage to change you? I seriously didn't know what to answer them", he told me. I chuckled at his words. True that Pari has indeed changed me.

"Boys shall we get going?", Dadi asked us once they reached us. We both nodded and started toward the venue. The moment I entered, I found myself being pulled for a hug.

"My god! Look at you! You're getting married Viren. I can't believe it", said Mrs. Radhika Chopra, Daksh's mom.

"Well, you need to believe it, aunt. Since I'm getting married.", I replied to her playfully.

"Look even our playful Viren is back now", I heard Mr. Aadhav Chopra, Daksh's father say. And aunt nodded her head.

"Trust me, dad, she brought our old Viren back to us", Daksh said to uncle.

"Okay, now let's get going inside", dadu ushered us. Aadhav uncle and dadu went inside talking happily with each other. Dadi and Aunt Radhika followed their suit. Daksh and I entered the hall. Damn man the decors were stunning. I really think both families should start doing business in event managing too.

There was a wooden floor at the center of the hall surrounded by circular dining tables and chairs. All types of light decors were hanging from the ceiling. The place was also decorated with white and blue flowers. A place swing decorated with flowers were kept at one corner for Pari and me. The place was totally giving me a ballroom feel. Pari's cousins, Rudhra, Alka, Vikrant, and Krisha made me sit on the swing., whilst Daksh was standing near me with a sulking face. All the guests started occupying their places.
