"Pathetic."
The only word that comes out from her lips while looking at her reflection. She's pathetic. Her eyes had dark bags around and it looks puffy and red. She kept crying last night.
A teat drops on the corner of her cat-like eyes but she quickly wipes it not wanting to cry. Last night should be enough.
With her shaking legs, she manage to stand up and walk over to the table where the envelope is placed. She breathes in, trying to stop herself from shaking too much. She tried calming herself by drinking the cold water.
She closed her eyes for a moment and heave a deep breath. She gently reach for the envelope until she was holding it. Her eyes stung. Today is the day.
This is the worst day of her life.
With a heavy heart, she put the envelope inside her bag. She looks at her reflection once again and she sees nothing but a pathetic and selfish girl. She let out a bitter smile.
She slump down on the chair as she felt her knees weaken again, she grip tightly on her phone, contemplating calling her dad.
Jimin.
He suddenly entered her mind, making her open her phone and go to his text last night.
Jimin:
I love you...She wasn't able to sleep well last night. Her guilt is eating her up, she felt ashamed of herself. She felt pity for herself.
How can she do this to him? She knows it's because she wants to be with him, only him, that's her only happiness. Jimin is her only happiness.
She suddenly remember all the things Jimin did for her. He makes her happy, he protects her when someone tried to harm her, he always makes sure that she is safe, he accepts her even she just disappeared without telling him an acceptable reason, he trusts her, and most especially he loves her.
This time she can't help but let the tears fall again from her eyes. Jimin doesn't deserve this. She won't let anyone hurt him.
Jennie then dialed her dad's number, "Hello?"
"What? Did he sign it already?"
He didn't even bother to ask about her wellbeing. What a great father.
"No..."
"Then why are you calling?"
"Dad... I can't do this. I can't steal something so important to h-"
"Are you out of your mind?! You're there already and now you want to back out!"
"Please dad, just let us be happy..." She sounded so hopeless while begging her dad, even tho she knew that there's no way his father would agree, she still tried.
"You're so ungrateful! Don't call again when the paper wasn't signed yet!"
With that, her father hung up. She's really ungrateful. She wiped the tears and ready herself. She still needs to go to work and face Jimin.
You've come this far, Jennie. You can do this. Trust Jimin, just him.
Once she feel ready she went out of her cavern with the envelope and drive to the company. While on the way there she felt like there is something heavy on her heart and shoulders, she can't seem to feel motivated knowing Jimin might hate her for this.
But she has made up her decision. She'll explain this all to Jimin, he will protect her from everything. She knows that, that's the only thing she's holding on to.
