Hey Liz,

I've been selfish for a while,

I've been tempted to walk out on you like her,

However, I promised myself I'd never let you repeat Mom's mistakes,

And here I sit and complain about how the biggest lie I've been told is "I'll always be there",

It's a new school year, and you are

13 years old,

You're stronger, you're even smiling more,

I see that you're making your way up the social ladder,

You're crazy, and a bit louder,

While inside, you will struggle to find out,

To find out who you really are,

You've got the popular friends,

But it doesn't matter,

You've always been nice to everyone, anyway,

You are developing some good qualities,

I'm proud to say,

You're becoming considerate,

Listening to others, and always ready to help,

You're getting good grades, you're standing in a good place,

Eighth grade will be the best,

Well, except for the spring semester,

Within you, things will start to change,

You will see everything differently,

And you won't date,

Enjoy these happy moments while you can,

Your situation is about to get a bit intense.

Always here,

Elizabeth
