Dear Elizabeth,
As you read this letter,
I hope that you can tell I am madly in love,
That she's changed me and I am better,
As a person and lover, I continue to grow
She has fallen for this,
For the girl who writes these letters,
The person that lingers beneath the dark,
The one who writes obscure lines,
The girl who sees the scars on her skin,
Runs her finger over them and merely blinks,
The girl who upsets her because she can't remember special dates,
The one who smiles after she angrily hangs up,
Smirking as she does research,
Planning ahead, looking for the perfect time and spot,
Finding the thing that shines,
And the best of songs,
I am that girl, the one who's selflessly in love,
The one who has learned,
Learned to deal and not break,
To understand and give in,
Learned that through suffering we find true love,
And through love, we find it all,
And she's everything,
Everything that would've made me fall,
I fell,
But she gives me the strength to stand tall,
Because she made a paradise on what was considered hell
