Good intention

Denise was at work. "Thank you for choosing our McDonald's how may I help you?" She said in her over exaggerated polite voice. Bzzz. Her phone vibrated in her pocket but she couldn't check it at the moment and it could only be two people Devin or Cherie. She slid her phone from her pocket and behind her ordertaker computer.

Devin: I'm done I was gonna forgive you but I'm done

Denise: why we haven't even talked today

Devin: Well you need to tell your bestfriend to mind her business and maybe you would want to change your password

Denise: change my password? Why?

Devin: your bestfriend just texted me telling me to talk to you, and it's not your fault ,and you cried ,and that you didn't know she had took your phone when you went to the bathroom and she read our messages.....

Now Denise had to conspire a lie. She had told Cherie. She didn't "take her phone". Dammit Cherie had to say something! She felt it was in Denise's best interest and did it with good intention. It backfired.

Devin: Your friend trying to tell me about my body and I AM FINE. If you can't control the people around you and keep your mouth closed I can't with you anymore.

Denise: I understand

Devin: I love you Bye Denise

Oh Shit. He says it as he ends it. Shes waited months for those words and these circumstances were fucked up. Denise's heart had just been sacrificed as an impatient customer sscreaming "HEELLOOOOOOO" in her ear over the headset. "How may I help you?" Denise's peppy and enthusiastic voice gone she was platonic and monotone. She was about to send her last text to Devin ever.

Denise: I love you too Devin

"Will that be all ma'am? Your total is 13.20 first window please." She turned around not realizing her coworkers were watching her basically studying how her emotions and expression shifted polar opposites. She grabbed a napkin wiping her eyes and quietly returned to her post in the corner. This shift was going to be a long one.
