I quickly take out my science textbook.

I spot Max just lying on his bed throwing a basketball up and down.

"C'mon Max. We're supposed to be working."

"Can we just skip it and fail?"

"No! This our last year. We can't just fail! Besides science is the easiest subject anyways."

"Fine." Max drops the ball and it goes rolling across his room.

I could sense that he was standing behind me. I start to get butterflies in my stomach. Why?

I feel a chin on my shoulder. "But science is the most boring subject."

I laugh. "Let's just get to work."

~An hour later~

I close my textbook. "We'll do the rest tomorrow."

"Thank god," Max says lying on his bed.

"You hardly did anything!" I said crawling up beside him.

"Yeah! I did more than that."

I shake my head. "No."

Max rolls on top of me, trapping me between his arms. He nods his head. "Yes, I did."

"Nope!" I said popping the 'p' and spitting in his face purposefully. He quickly looks away not wanting it to get into his mouth.

He scowls at me and whips it away.

"Don't hurt me," I said trying to hide from him.

"Don't worry. Ashlynn. I won't touch you. That way." He winks.

I roll my eyes.

He starts to lean down. I push on his chest forcing him to roll over so that I'm on top of him now.

"Oh no, you don't." He rolls me back over.

I giggle.

He leans down and kisses me.

Then my phone starts to ring. I sigh.

I read the contact. Mom. I press the red button.

"Who was that?"

"My mom."

"Oh."

I laugh and kiss him. "I love you."

"I love you too." He smiles. He kisses me again but this time was longer, more passionate.

My phone rings again but I ignore it.

I wrap my arms around his neck, forcing him to get closer. He smiles against my lips. He groans softly.

His hands trail down my body to my waist. He grips my shirt and takes it off. He soon takes his off showing off his six-pack.

At Embers

"So what did you at Max do?" Ember asks.

"We worked on our science project."

"You were there for like two hours."

"It was a very long science project." I laugh.

"Sure it was." She winks.

"It's around 10. I'm going to sleep. I'm tired."

"Okay. I might as well too."

We head upstairs and into her room.

"I'm just going to chill in your room for the night," I said with a yawn.

"Okay." She says. We get into our PJs and hop into bed.
