Lian Song and Si Ming came to visit Dong Hua after work.

"Hey Dong Hua, you might not remember us but I'm Lian Song, and he's Si Ming. Are you feeling better now?"

"Oh, Jiu-er had already told me about you guys. I'm feeling better now, although I still don't remember anything from my past. It's okay; I'll take my time to remember. My past isn't important as long as Jiu-er is in my future." Dong Hua then turned to look at Feng Jiu with love in his eyes.

Lian Song smiled faintly and looked towards Si Ming, with doubting eyes.

"Did you just heard what Dong Hua said?" He thought to himself, and Si Ming nodded as if he knew what Lian Song was thinking. I guess great minds do think alike.

Lian Song tried to contain himself, but couldn't help letting out a stifled laugh.

"What is so funny, Lian Song?" Dong Hua asked, with a confused look.

"Oh! It's nothing. I just find you so different from your usual self. The old Dong Hua wouldn't say something so mushy. I don't mean it the bad way, and I just think it is interesting to see these changes in you." Lian Song quickly explained himself while trying to hold back his laughter.

Lian Song's gaze shot back to Si Ming, and he choked on his drink, spilling some on his shirt.

----------------------------------------

The three of them left the room, as the doctor was checking up on Dong Hua and they discussed Dong Hua's situation.

Si Ming: It appears that Dong Hua's personality changed drastically. Although it is not a bad thing, it would be dangerous for him to return to Tai Chen Group now. His attacker is still at large. For his safety, we will need to conceal him.

Lian Song: I agree with what Si Ming said. With Dong Hua's memory loss, he will be an easy target. As for now, we must keep this a secret between us and don't let any outsiders know about Dong Hua's situation. I'll find him a safe place to hide after he discharged from the hospital.

Feng Jiu: Yes, I think this is the best way for now. I'll make sure to stay close to him, so that the attacker wouldn't get another chance to hurt him. I'll keep you both updated on Dong Hua's progress as well.

Soon, the doctor walked out. He informed them that Dong Hua was recovering well, and if nothing goes wrong, he will be discharged in a few days.

"Let us know when Dong Hua is going to be discharged, so we can make arrangements for his accommodation and pick him up as well. Meanwhile, Stay safe." Si Ming said before leaving with Lian Song.

Feng Jiu then quickly headed back to the ward to take care of Dong Hua.

----------------------------------------

For the next couple of days, Feng Jiu and Dong Hua were inseparable. She accompanied him everywhere he goes. It was as if they were dating for real. The nurses envied their relationship, and would often gossip about how sweet they were.

"Eat some fruits, Dong Hua. It's good for your health. I'll peel some oranges for you to eat." Feng Jiu said.

"I don't want to eat it unless you feed me, Jiu-er," Dong Hua replied cheekily and tugged on Feng Jiu's shirt.

"You're such a baby, Dong Hua! That is what kids do when they want their mother to dote on them."

Dong Hua then pouted and folded his arms, acting all childish.

Feng Jiu then remembered that Dong Hua grew up without any family, and this could be the reason why he was acting so childish after losing all his memories. She thought to herself that Dong Hua might be subconsciously trying to relive his deprived childhood.

Fengjiu was very in touch with her maternal instinct; she decided that she must pamper him and make it up to him for his lonely childhood.

Upon this realization, she immediately said, "Open your mouth, Dong Hua, I'll feed you as many oranges as you want! I'll take good care of you."

Dong Hua happily turned towards Feng Jiu and opened his mouth so that she could feed him.

"Mmm.. these oranges taste so good! It tasted extra sweet because you peeled them, and fed me with it! You make me so happy, Jiu-er." Dong Hua smiled sweetly.

Feng Jiu blushed and replied shyly, "You're such a sweet-talker, Dong Hua."

Although Feng Jiu was enjoying her time with Dong Hua, she couldn't stop worrying as she was afraid of losing all the happiness that she has with him now. It's been at the back of her mind, that Dong Hua would eventually remember everything and leave her.

It will be even more painful to lose him after spending so many happy moments together.

----------------------------------------

Dong Hua's MRI scan test results were out. It shows that he has a small blood clot in his brain, and it was the cause of his memory loss. The doctors said that it wasn't severe so it might go away on its own. But they weren't sure how long it would take. It could be a day, a year, or never.

The doctor then permitted Dong Hua to be discharged from the hospital as his eyes were more or less fully recovered. But he needed to return to the hospital for his bi-weekly check-up.

Dong Hua's fast recovery was partly due to Feng Jiu, as he was always filled with happiness whenever Feng Jiu was around him, and it significantly improved his health.

Dong Hua was upset to leave the hospital because he knew that he wouldn't be able to spend as much time with his Jiu-er. Now that he had recovered from most of his injuries, she wouldn't feel obliged to take care of him anymore.

----------------------------------------

"Dong Hua, I'll need to buy you more clothes, and some daily necessities once you settle into your new place." Feng Jiu casually said in the car, on their way to Dong Hua's new place.

"New place...? Why am I moving to a new place?" Dong Hua immediately replied.

"Lian Song owns another small apartment, in a safe and gated community. He's letting you stay there, for free. There is also a beautiful park nearby, so it is a good place for you to recuperate from your injuries!"

Dong Hua silently thought to himself for a while before saying, "I want to stay with you, Jiu-er. Although the apartment sounds nice, it will be inconvenient for me to stay alone. I need someone around to take care of me. What if something happened to me?"

"You'll be fine, Dong Hua. My apartment is tiny, and there's only one bedroom. I'm sure you won't feel comfortable living there."

"Don't worry about me! I can sleep in the living room, and I promise I won't make any trouble for you. Please, Jiu-er. Let me stay with you!"

Lian Song and Si Ming, who was both seated upfront, snickered upon hearing that.

They looked at each other with a grin on their face before Lian Song replied, "Maybe it's not a bad idea for Dong Hua to stay with you, Feng Jiu. It will be easier for you to take care of him. Don't forget; you'll be back to work soon so it will be tiring for you to travel to and fro from my apartment. Let him stay with you."

Dong Hua then nodded his head and gave Lian Song a thumbs-up through the rear mirror reflection.

Si Ming also replied, "it's safer to stay together". He hinted Feng Jiu to stay close to Dong Hua, while they continue to investigate the attacks.

Feng Jiu got the hint instantly and hesitantly agreed to let Dong Hua move into her place.

Dong Hua smiled brightly and said, "I knew you were the best, Jiu-er!"

Feng Jiu heart was pounding hard, at the thought of them moving in together. It was too sudden but she knew this was for the best.

I look forward to living with you, Jiu-er.
