"What took you so long?" I asked him. I've been waiting here for a couple of hours, I can't believe I'm waiting again.

"My mom---" I cut him off, "Nanay mo na naman?" (It's your mom again?)

I clenched my fists, "Alam kong mahal mo ang nanay mo pero hindi ba parang sobra na?" (I know that you love your mom but isn't this too much?)

I don't know why his mom hates me so much.

His eyebrows furrowed, "What are you saying? I can't understand you,"

"I can't understand you either!" I yelled, "You keep on talking in Mandarin and you don't even translate it for me! How would I know what you're talking about?"

"Because you don't have to know everything!" He yelled back.

I stood up, "I have the right to know! What if your mom is already cursing me and I don't even have any hint that she is!"

He held my shoulders and made me sit, "Can you just calm down and stop yelling?" His voice softened.

After a few minutes we were covered by silence.

"Do you love her?"

That's what I wanted to ask him ever since. Yes, I already know what really happened and that Cindy Eoni has a boyfriend but this is what I really want to hear.

If he doesn't love her, why does he smile like that whenever he's with her? I saw that smile before, but that was before. It's like a year ago?

If he doesn't love her, he won't agree. If he doesn't love her, he won't do that.

I was ready about everything that I'll hear from him.

He looked tensed with what I asked, he couldn't even look at me.

"Cindy Eoni, Lim Shui Fei, do you love her?"

There are thousands of thorns stuck in my heart. I was used to it, being hurt. But why can't it stop? Why can't I just be numb?

"I just did a mistake but why does it hurt so much?" He removed his eyes from the sea and looked at me.

I gave him a sad smile, "Because truth hurts," And I went back to staring at the beautiful scenery of Qingdao, "You did the same mistake twice. Maybe the first time was a mistake, but the second time you did it? It was no longer a mistake but a choice. But please don't regret anything that made you smile, you've hurt me, yes, but at least you were happy with her."

"Now, I'm asking you again." I took a deep breath, "Do you love her?"

I noticed his lips, it's trembling. He's hurting, I know. But this is what we need.

He leaned forward to me and gave me a chaste yet painful kiss, "I love you more," He said.

Law of Contradiction. There are only two answers, it's either a yes or a no, "You don't have to tell me now, I already know." I said in a hoarse voice.

If he doesn't love her, he'll say no instantly. Without thinking twice. Without hesitation.

Seems like the doubts I had, turned out to be the truth.
