Marinette sobs because she is sixteen years old, and her parents are dead. It seems they caught some village illness, and never did recover from it. She is all alone, and wonders if she will ever find love. If she does, she must never let it go.
She begins to plant some seeds of red tulips all across the field where she and her mother use to go on walks.
