17 | Christmas party

When Asher had carried me up to his bedroom last night and explored my body whether it's gentle or rough, we had finished within a matter of fifteen minutes due to the restricted time limit we had. Ashlynn had obviously known what was going on but the others had asked us if we had finished baking the Christmas cookies which had completely left Asher and I in shock. Ashlynn had interrupted and said that we had done the decorations for the cookies and that we had ran out of icing which was why we had taken so long.

That was four days ago and since then, Asher and I had been having sex with each other whether it was at midnight, during the day when Eli and Cato was out doing something or when I was free. Sometimes we'd even do it in between the breaks I took from doing my tasks for my internship. But Asher and I had also hung out when we didn't feel like sex and would've rather enjoyed each other's company. He had helped me out with my tasks, pulling out files from his laptop and sending them to me by email with the research he had found or we had watched Netflix together.

I had also learnt more about Asher's life; where he was born, where and who he and Ashlynn had lived as children when his father was in the military and his mother was a flight attendant. Underneath all the terrifying tattoos and his resting bitch face was man of honour and respect, a man with his own flaws and demons -that I had yet to know about- along with his own intelligence.

"So, what do all these tattoos mean?" I had asked one time where he was laying behind me and his arm had wrapped around me, covering my exposed breasts.

"They're stories...about business deals," Asher had replied nervously as he had kissed the back of my neck. "Some business deals are dangerous."

I had chuckled. "Oh, I'm sure they are."

I felt a pinch on my shoulder, dragging me back to reality as I glanced over at Asher with a glare, causing him to laugh as he pinched my cheeks. "You're adorable when you're mad."

I raised a brow at him. "No."

He simply rolled his eyes before doing his own work beside me, typing up a few things on his word document while I concentrated on my eyeshadow, dabbing a few golden colours on my eyelids.

No strings attached.

And yet with Asher by my side, doing his own thing while I did mine, I didn't mind his company. In fact, I liked it. My mind had replayed the moments when Ashlynn and Cato had talked to me about my feelings, how I was so closed off and I had built these walls around me that it had become my defence mechanism. I had to have these défenses, especially in the world I had grown up in but now that I was no longer a part of that world, maybe they were right.

The words tumbled out of my mouth before I even thought about them. "Do you want to be my date for tonight's Christmas party?"

Asher blinked at me, confused. "I don't mix well with rich people."

I raised a brow at him. "Come on, my mom is stressing me out for it and I know it'll make her happy that I appeared with someone. Besides, there will be no paparazzi."

"Fine," Asher surrendered, shaking his head in amusement as his eyes glimmered in the sunset light that was shining through the windows. "Only for you."

"No strings attached."

Asher's smile faltered for a split second before rolling his eyes once again as if telling me that he didn't need to be reminded.

I decided to wear the same outfit as last night seeing as only five people had seen me in it and besides, it was a beautiful dress that I couldn't put to the side. It complimented my curves and ass, I couldn't say no to it.
