Waking up to a sense of loneliness lingering from last night, I couldn't help but blast some R&B music to help me boost my mood while I was completing my morning routine although that didn't really help either. I had finally started getting into the routine of making myself a proper breakfast with a side of either orange juice or coffee. I had also placed the note that Asher had left me when I woke up the next day after my drunken mess on the fridge and I didn't know why I did but I did it anyway.

My phone began to ring, notifying me that there was a FaceTime call as I quickly picked it up and my eyes lit up at my mother's contact. I picked up and I couldn't help but noticed that my mother was glowing; her skin radiant and nails did.

"Mom, who are you?" I questioned, a wide smile on my face as my mother placed the phone down and danced around her unfamiliar bedroom in her white robe. She looked so happy.

"I say 'fuck your father and his new bitch'!" my mother exclaimed as she signed the divorce papers in front of me with a huge smile before tossing it to the side. "Over the past few days since he sent me the divorce papers, I have really thought about it and he didn't deserve me. Thank you for making me realise it sooner, Evelyn."

I smiled as I felt myself cry and I didn't know why. It was probably the combination of the loneliness, seeing my mother so happy and the fact that I had missed my mother so much and I would've done anything to have her embrace at this very moment.

My mother's expression contorted to a concerned one as she came closer to the camera, tilting her head to the side. "What's wrong, my sweetheart? Why do you seem so down?"

I sniffed as the tears began to release itself, my shoulders shaking as I bawled my eyes out, my chest heaving up and down. I clenched my fists in frustration as I bit my lip to stop myself from crying to only taste the metallic blood in my lips. "Mom..."

"I'm coming home, sweetheart," my mother said as she quickly pulled out her second phone, shouting at her assistant to buy her a plane ticket on the first flight out. "Sweetheart, hang in there. I'm coming home."

My mother had hung up, leaving me to collapse to the floor as my heart began to hurt while I cried my eyes out. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, wondering why I was acting like this and my first instinct was to call Asher but I had thought otherwise. I didn't need anyone.

Half an hour later, I found myself washing my face and downing a bottle of water before snuggling in bed with a stuffed bear my mother had given me before leaving for London three years ago. I was laying on my side, facing away from the front door as I allowed my eyes to flutter shut.
