"There are a lot of things about this world, Zahra" Quil took a deep breath as he bore his eyes into her gentle doe curious ones. She didn't open her mouth to speak knowing he wanted to tell her more. So, she stood patiently in the sand of the beach where she discovered a whole new world.

Quil was very hesitant on bringing her to the beach of all places, but he knew deep down that it was the place Zahra felt a peace. Despite her not being able to touch the Ocean water, the way her eyes shined told him enough that the beach was her sanctuary. Regardless of being in the wide-open, Zahra felt protected with just him being in front of her. It was still slightly scary for her outside, but somehow, she noticed how safe she felt around Quil.

"I've told you a lot about shapeshifters and I never told you the true reason we exist in the first place" He continued bringing her out of her thoughts on observing his entire being. She listened deeply as he explained about the Cold Ones, however, the odd thing about Zahra was that despite how cruel they seem-she couldn't help but consider them as not as scary as the human she watched kill a wolf.

The Cold Ones were indeed the kind to live off of the blood of living beings-but the human was the monster that had driven to kill a creature that did not even show even the slightest bit of harm.

Though, Zahra knew she still had a lot to learn. She was far from judging an entire race without completely understanding them.

"Zahra" Quil called out to her noticing her eyes fall into a daze," I just wanted you to know, that the Cold Ones are the guys and I's greatest enemy"

"But-" Sha started but Quil shook his head

"I don't think you should hate them just because I do" As much as it pained him to say that, he knew Zahra was gentle-at least from what he had experienced. Besides the entire break down of the hunting program, she stumbled upon, when Zahra watched a bunch of other things-her reactions on them all were pure.

Even when he showed her The Little Mermaid-which she critiqued on being off about her life, except when the part Ariel expressed her want to see the world above. He couldn't help but notice the look in her eyes that connected with the red-haired cartoon character.

Something told him that Zahra's story was close to the surface of being revealed, but he knew that he had to wait. He also knew he had to be patient and calm on whatever he tells her. He understood the anger within him that would grow the moment he hears anything that hurt his Zahra.

"Thank you, Quil" She responded softly leaning forward wrapping her arms around his torso. He was taken by surprise on her sudden affection, but then he remembered the movies Jared had shown her. He didn't really like the idea of the movies the older male chose, especially with some of the very intimate scenes, but he also was grateful that Zahra was slowly adjusting smoothly as possible.

He still had a ton to explain about the human body but he pushed that away knowing there was no rush.

At least he hoped there wasn't...
