"Damon,stop laughing and help me!" You groaned over the phone to your big brother.
"You actually forgot your 3 year anniversary,I'm finding this situation a little hilarious. How did matty moo take it?" You could practically here the smug grin in his voice. You hesitated a little before answering the question,knowing that whatever you said,Damon would find it hilarious.
"He Uhm,shoved a ring into my hand and stormed off"
"What kind of idiot tells their boyfriend that they forgot their anniversary?"Damon laughed.
"I didn't tell him!" You protested quickly " he asked me if I remembered what day it was and I just stayed silent and then he got all mad" You stuttered out,on the other line,Damon was finding genuine amusement in your little situation which was beginning to annoy you,you knew you should've called Stefan.
"Damonnnnn" You whined causing him to attempt to conceal his laughter.
"Ok ok,fine. Go to Wickery Bridge,make it all pretty with lights and whatever,cook a nice meal,get some candles and I'll bring him to you. Just pretend that you remembered all along,okay?"
You did a little squeal down the phone,getting excited "okay,thanks Damon. This is why your my favourite brother! I've gotta go,bye I love you"
"I love you too,little sis" he chuckled and hung up.

"Why did you bring me out here,Damon? It's 2am" Matt groaned at the oldest Salvatore. Damon rolled his eyes at the blonde and pointed to a decorated Wickery Bridge.
"Happy anniversary,Donovan. My threat still stands,you hurt her and I'll hurt you by ripping your throat out" He gave matt a sarcastic smile before getting into his car and driving away.
"Surprise?" You said meekly,raising your arms in the air. Matt stood stunned,staring at the perfectly laid out dinner with candles and soft music playing in the background.
"You didn't forget?" He spoke in awe,his eyes settling on you "or you did?" He spoke with a little laugh.
"I'm sorry Matt,Damon told me to pretend I didn't but I feel really really bad" You pouted at your boyfriend.
"It's fine,Y/N. Really,this is perfect." He walked over to you and placed his hands on your waist and leaned in for gentle kiss. "I'm sorry for getting mad earlier. You don't have that ring on you,do you?"
You took the ring out of your pocket and placed it in Matt's open palm,him immediately getting down on one knee.
"Y/N Salvatore,will you make me the happiest man alive and do me the honour of becoming my wife?" He smiled up at you as your eyes looked with tears,you pulled him up and planted a long kiss on his lips,him slipping the ring on your finger as you did so.
"And I promise that I will try to remember our anniversary date" you whispered causing him to chuckle and rest his head on yours.
"I love you,Donovan"
"I love you a thousand times more,Salvatore"
