I sigh waking up to an empty space beside me and a note nicely laid on the pillow. Sitting up, I rub my eyes with a yawn before grabbing the note and reading it.

Had to leave early, got some work to do with the boys. Won't be back till late, love you - L xxx

I sigh running a hand through my hair and putting the note down. I get up, making the bed and heading for the shower. I wash myself thoroughly before stepping out, wrapping the towel around myself, I unlock the bathroom door, bumping into someone. "Hey watch it!" Ariana shrieks and I frown pushing past her and slamming my bedroom door in the process of going into it.

I put on my bra and knickers before grabbing my stretch mark lotion and rubbing it all around my bump. "You all cosy in there boo?" I coo, stroking it and admiring it in the mirror. "Mummy and Daddy get to see you today" I smile as I grab a maternity navy blue and white stripy t-shirt and some leggings getting dressed. I slip my feet into some sandal wedges before shoving my hair up into a ponytail and heading downstairs. I open up a banana and I wash that down with some orange juice.

"Morning love" Karen strolls in holding some empty glasses which she places in the sink. "You excited for the scan?" She beams as she starts washing up. "Yeah of course! I'm super excited" I reply as I sit on the kitchen counter. "Is Nathan going with you?" She asks and I sigh. "If he remembers" I shrug knowing there's nothing else I can do.

"I'm sure he will. He wouldn't want to miss something like this" Karen smiles reassuringly and I try to return it. "Oh Cassandra called earlier, said her and her husband are moving out today so the house will be yours by the end of the day" Karen alerts me and exciting butterflies invade my tummy. My gorgeous brand new house will be mine by tonight! Perfect!

I can start on the baby's room, and buy some extra furniture to make the place my own since we've bought it with Cassandra and her husbands stuff already in there. Plant some things in my big new garden and oh my gosh! We can even have a house warming party! Get the BBQ fired up, invite everybody we know, it will be awesome!

"Vanessa" Karen interrupts my thought bubble and I shake my head with a chuckle, "Sorry Karen, I was completely out of it then. What was you saying?". "I was just saying how lovely it is to have you back in town, and for good this time. You better not leave us all like that again" She glares at me sternly. "I won't Karen, I promise" I cross my fingers behind my back. I can't actually make a promise I know I can't keep.

"Anyway" I sigh standing up, "I'm supposed to be meeting a friend so I better go."

"Alright love. Have fun" She smiles before continuing the washing up. "I will, oh and will you please remind Nathan about the scan?" I flash a pleading smile and she nods. "Thank you" I hug her before grabbing my bag and heading out the door.

I unlock the car, getting in and placing my bag on the passenger seat. I start the engine and I drive to the nearest Starbucks. "Marisa!" I open my arms with a grin as I see her sitting there in the corner with a cappuccino sitting in front of her, and a double buggy beside her. She looks up, her ocean blue eyes meeting mine.

"Vanessa? Oh my gosh, long time no see! How are you? Wow you look amazing" She gushes standing up and hugging me tightly. "Hey, I'm good how are you?" I giggle and she pulls away replying, "I'm great thanks! Look at you" She places a hand on my bump.

"Haha I know, it's all been so unexpected but I couldn't be happier! I'm just gonna go get a drink, then we can have a good old gossip" I nudge her in a friendly way before heading towards the counter, paying for a pumpkin spice latte and sitting down back with Marisa.
