Chapter 25

Aiden goes around to get in the drivers sear and I begin getting in the backseat behind the passenger. I look over and Emery and James are walking out of the house laughing, I smile at the two of them before Aidens voice brings me out of my thoughts, "What are you doing?"

My eyes meet his and I guess he can see the confusion evident on my face because he says, "You're riding up here."

I smile and get out of the car, moving to get beside him. For some reason I feel happy knowing he wanted me close to him.

James walks around and sits behind Aiden and Emery gets in the backseat behind me. Aiden puts on his seat belt and starts the car, about to back out of the driveway, he looks over at me, "Put your seat belt on."

I turn to look at him and grab my belt from behind me, doing as he says, I wait to hear the click

When it's on me and I'm safe to leave the driveway, he pulls out onto the street and we make our way to the wedding.

He takes us down a bunch of roads I've never been on before turning onto another unfamiliar street. All the houses along the road are huge and I wonder if this is where the wedding is.

He pulls into a driveway, answering my question. It's a tall brick house with windows in a row beside the balcony and a pretty porch light hanging down.

"The wedding is at their house?" Emery asks and James nods.

"Yea, they wanted to do it at their house so they can hold the memory and have it be a special place for the baby to grow up. April is seventeen weeks pregnant."

I nod in understanding, "So is this the wedding you were talking about at my house?" I ask, "The one where you were best man at the first now you're best man again and you don't know how to start your speech?"

He smiles and shakes his head, "Yep. My uncle is on his second wife but I think he might have a good lady this time."

Emery and I both look at each other and back at James, nodding.

"Ready?" Aiden walks to the other side of the car and stands at my side.

"Yea." I tell him and he smiles and takes my hand in his. Our fingers intertwine each others and I love the feeling of his warm hand radiating onto mine.

We begin making our way inside and when we get in there, the house is empty, "It's out back."

Aiden begins walking to the backdoor, pulling me alongside him with James and Emery following.

When we get out there the entire yard is full of tables and decorations with a small arbor set up towards the front. They have white lights streaming from the trees and people are gathered all over the yard talking.

"James!" I hear a womans voice call and I turn around. A woman with long blonde hair is hugging James. She looks about twenty seven and I'm assuming it's April, the fiancee.

"I'm so glad you could come!" She pulls out of the hug and turns to face Aiden, a grin still plastered across her beautiful face.

"Aiden! Come give me a hug!" She opens her arms and he laughs, pulling his hand out of mine so he can go to her.

My hand instantly misses his warm one but I smile at how happy April looks, "Congratulations." Aiden tells her and they pull back from the hug.

She looks over at Emery and I, "Hey! So glad you girls could come!" She gives us both a big smile and turns back to James, "Adam is over at the food table if you want to go say hey," She turns to face the rest of us, "It was nice seeing you all!"
