Chapter XV: Weird Things

Sam's PoV

Ashley and I kept glaring at each other. Nasa loob na kami ng office ni Dean pero hindi pa rin kami tumitigil. Tsk. Epal kasi 'tong si Ashley. Siya yung nagsimula.

Pinatid ba naman ako kanina habang papasok ng office. Nakakahiya. Shemay! Buti na lang talaga at nasalo ako ni Dark.

"Would you stop glaring at Ms. Green, Ms. Deisdain?" The dean said firmly. Hawak niya yung dulo nung nakatakip sa mukha niya. Ewan ko kung bakit may takip yung mukha ni dean. May pa mystery effect din ata siya. "We need to focus on the subject of the mission."

Ashley nodded her head while I sighed. Haist. Just pretty please, kung kasama man ako sa mission thingy na 'to, sana hindi ko makasama si Ashley. Mababaliw na talaga ako pag magkasama kami.

"Stephen, since ikaw lang ang kayang lumapit kay Trish dahil sa fire fever niya, maiwan ka dito." The dean said. "Joshua, James, Ashley, kasama kayong tatlo sa mission na 'to. Adrian and Adrianna, kayo ang maglead sa kanila. The rest, continue studying."

I cheered in my mind. Yeeees! Di ko kasama si Ashleeeeeey! Wiiii! Wiii--

"And since it's the fire region we're talking about, we need your power Samantha. Kasama ka rin. Counterpart ng power mo ang fire kaya you'll be helpful. Isa pa, take it as a training. Marami kang matututunan sa mission na 'to." The dean said as I nodded quietly.

Tsk. Ano ba yan? Masyadong Kj si dean. Nakita nang di kami magkasundo ni Ashley, eh. Sheez naman!

Biglang sumeryoso si dean. Biglang nagbago yung atmoshere.

"There's something weird about, Ms. Harper." He said. "Unlike normal magiceas, she's too vulnerable. Hindi normal yung immunity niya. That's why we need the special antidote for fire mosquitos. At dito tayo magkakaproblema..."

"It's not in Drevion." Pagtatapos ni Stephen. "You guys need to go to Xypro City. Matagal ang papunta dun. It will take you 4 days kasi maglalakad kayo sa Xanity Forest."

"Ang daya. Gusto ko ring sumama." Air whined as he pouted.

I groaned. Lakad na naman. The dean nodded kaya nanahimik kami.

Tiningnan naman ni Adrianna nang masama si Air kaya nanahimik 'to.

"That's all. Dismissed." The dean said after a minute or so.

Unti - unti na kaming lumabas.

"Sometimes, you need to take the risk." Narinig kong sabi ni dean bago pa ako makalabas.

Take the risk? Ano daw?!

Stephen's PoV

After the meeting, I instantly went to the clinic. Ako lang ang pwedeng lumapit sa kanya kasi mahahawa ang ibang royalties na lalapit sa kanya. Fire must be dealt with fire.

Tsk. She's too troublesome.

Tinitigan ko siya. Halatang nahihirapan siya sa sitwasyon niya. Haist. I don't know why pero nasasaktan ako na makita siyang ganyan. We're not close. Not even acqaintances. Siguro kasi she looks like Crystal that's why I'm hurt whenever I saw her like this. Anyway, bukas ang alis nila Sam papuntang Xypro City.

"Mom..." She whispered in her sleep. "Don't leave me."

I sighed. She must've had a tough childhood. Nacucurious tuloy ako sa kanya.

Just on cue, tears started to fall unto her cheeks. Pinunasan ko naman yun. Parang kusa na lang gumalaw yung kamay ko.

"You're too beautiful that I can't help staring at you." I muttered.
