Chapter 30
(Present time…)
“We have to stop this, we can’t continue this thing” Daniela pushes him away and tries to walk away but he grabs her hand and turns her around to face him
“Do you remember it all began at this very same spot?” his eyes begin to seduce her as they stand at the bottom of the staircase
“And it should end right here as well” she says to him sternly but he doesn’t hear a thing she says as he pushes himself against her and kisses her. She tries to push him away but he holds onto her hands firmly.
The front door suddenly opens and Dianne stands there watching a shocked Nick and Daniela flustered. Daniela’s top is unbuttoned and Nicks is all messed up. The pair look at Dianne, shocked without uttering a word
Dianne walks away after a minute of just staring at them, Daniela follows her mother upstairs
“Mum I can explain” her mother just remains silent “Please listen to me” Daniela pleads
As they enter her mother’s bedroom, Daniela continues to explain herself and enlighten her mother on how it all began. Her mother still remains silent, not responding to any of Daniela’s pleas

It’s been more than a week and Dianne hasn’t spoken to neither Nick nor Daniela. The atmosphere at home is gloomy. Daniela paces around the house and eventually steps into the lounge where her mother is seated and occupied with a novel.
She takes a seat next to her mother on the couch and remains silent for a while. Her mother’s eyes don’t depart from her novel.
“Mum…” Daniela manages to drag out with guilt lining every tremor of her voice
Her mother slowly lifts her head up and faces Daniela
“Do you love him?” she asks her
“No” Daniela says with confidence
Right on queue Nick enters the lounge. Both ladies look at him
“Gather your things and leave my house, the divorce papers will get to you by tomorrow” Dianne says to him. He nods and makes his way upstairs. Daniela just looks at her mother apologetically
“Can you promise me one thing?” Dianne asks her daughter
“Anything mum”
“No more secrets? No more family affairs?” a smile forms across her face
Daniela instantly giggles at this “Promise NO MORE FAMILY AFFAIRS... I love you mum”
“I love you too my angel” she embraces her daughter into a hug
