Chapter 28

Luke's P.O.V

Marcy has been quiet for days now.

She'd smile here and there.

Sometimes she'd go with us to film Amnesia, sometimes she'd just stay home.

She mostly stayed quiet when the girls were put in.

She didn't come when we filmed with them.

We never got to go to the theaters we over slept that night she looked for me.

She mostly stayed in her room.

She'd talk to Calum but she wouldn't talk to me and when we'd ask him he tells us that he made a promise.

We're going to this circus show because it's our last day here and maybe it would cheer Marcy up.

Everyone is in their rooms.

It's 2 am and I can't sleep.

I choose to facetime Calum at this time.

He picks up after 3 rings.

"Calum I can't sleep."

"Luke, go to sleep." He whines with a pillow over his head. "Why didn't you wake Michael up instead?"

"I never really thought about it."

I hear noise downstairs and by the look on Calum's face I know he hear them too.

"You heard that right?" I ask Calum getting scared.

"Yeah, It might be a burgler because Ash is here, Michael is there and Marcy wouldn't get up at this time in her condition. Goodluck Luke!." He hangs up.

"No!" I yell.

I guess I have to go check who it is?

I get the thing closes to me before heading downstairs.

I hear the t.v on.

I tiptoe to the living room.

No lights are on.

I walk over to the couch.

"Marcy?" I ask out loud turning the lights on.

"Luke? Why do you have a shoe?" She asked squinting.

A shoe. Really a shoe. I was going to hurt a "burgler" with a shoe.

"Oh, nothing." I say throwing my shoe behind me turning the lights off again.

"You can't sleep either?" I ask sitting down next to her.

"No." She sighs scooting to make more space for me.

"So what are you watching?" I ask her.

"Insidious 2." She cuddles up more with her blanket.

"Oh." I nod.

Why is she being awkward.

Isn't that my job?

"Soooo.." I drag to break the awkward silence.

I want to hug her..

"If you want to join under my blanket you can." She says shyly.

I put the blanket over me letting her put her feet on my lap.

"Um.."

"You can lay with me too.. I mean if you're scared we can watch something else." She tells me.

"No i'm okay."

"Oh..okay." She nods not looking away from the screen.

"Come here?" I ask her.
