~Mr. Thompson POV~
'Thank god schools over. I don't think i could take another question
from that girl Mikayla, or any other girl in fact.' i thought and signed.
I walked out my classroom door, locked it and started towards
the parking lot and glanced around for my Land Rover. I started up
the engine and waited for it to warm up. I looked through the windshield
to see Michelle sitting on the curb with her head in her hands.
I was about to get off but,...
I saw a boy, which was probably her boyfriend, jogging towards her
and with that I drove away.
~Michelle POV~
I walked to the parking lot and waited for my Mom.
It's been fifteen minutes. Where is she?
I looked in my bag and pulled out my cellphone. The screen read
'1 New Message' hm.
Mom: I can't make it sweetie. I'm so sorry.-2:50pm
I was now three in the afternoon, and I had no ride, or anything.
I couldn't help it. I was on the verge of tears. I tried to stop the burning
by blinking a couple of times. Basically that didn't help.
I was angry, .....sad. I sighed and sat on the curb thinking of a way to get
home.
After a few minutes, i heard my name being called. I looked over my shoulder
to see that it was Rikki.
"Michelle. What's wrong?" Rikki asked worried. I held my phone toward him.
"She was suppose to pick me up Rikki." I said softly and before I knew
what was happening Rikki was hugging me tightly and the tears
started to spill over again.
"Michelle your mom probably has a very good reason." He moved away
and placed his hands on either side of my face. "So please. Stop crying
and let this handsome boy, " he said gesturing towards himself "take
you home."
All I could do was nod. I got into his car and closed my eyes and
before i knew it we were at my house. I thanked Rikki and he drove off.
I went inside and put my phone on the kitchen table and sat in the chair
with my head on the table. Suddenly my phone started to vibrate. I glanced at the
screen 'Mom calling'. I ignored it and put my head down again.
Not even two minutes later I felt my phone vibrateyet again. I glanced at the screen which read a number I had no idea who it was.
I pressed the green button on my Sidekick LX.
