HEATHER’S POV

I walked uneasily, through the airport, making sure not to stray from Ashley’s side. He wrapped his strong arm securely around me and rubbed my arm. “You’ll be fine.” He soothed in a loving voice. I nodded and tried my best to stay calm. I couldn’t help but feel nervous though. Could you blame me? After all, I’d hardly left the hospital at all, in the past three months, and even before that, I was never one to be in a crowded space. As judgmental strangers passed by us in groups of three and four, my heartbeat quickened. I interlaced my fingers tightly with Ashley’s, getting closer for protection.

Every so often Andy would look back at me, making sure I was safe. I loved how much he actually cared about me. Even though I was hurting him, he still wanted me with him. He still put my wellbeing before his. He takes better care of me than my parents ever did. As we neared out gate, I began to relax. Soon we’d be on the plane and I could rest for a few hours. There would be no more groups of hateful people hovering around us.

“Oh my god!” I heard a girl screech, from across the room. “It’s Black Veil Brides!” I instantly looked up and found a group of girls enthusiastically heading our way.

My grip tightened on Ashley. Although I could tell that the girls weren’t harmful to us in any way; I couldn’t help but feel overprotective of Ashley. At any moment him or Andy could be snatched away from me, leaving me to fend for myself. I think it was pretty obvious that that wouldn’t end well. Also, how were they supposed to explain me? I was nowhere hot enough to be one of Ashley’s normal mystery sluts and by the way I was clinging to him, what else could I be? I began to panic, as the girls neared us. “I can’t do this.” I whispered to Ashley.

He bent down and kissed the top of my head and protectively held me closer to him. “It’s alright Heather.” He soothed. “I’ll keep you safe. Besides they’re just fans.” He smiled and me, causing me to blush deeply.

“O-okay..” I replied, still on edge. It made me feel better knowing that Ashley would protect me, but as for them being just fans’… I’d seen enough videos and been to enough concerts to know that even the smallest, most innocent fans can become wild beasts when in the presence of their idol.

As soon as they reached us, two of them began to tell Andy how much of an inspiration he was. I couldn’t help but agree with them. Before he began to take pictures and sign shit, he looked over to me and smiled a sweet smile. It was his way of telling me that it would be okay and that I was safe. In a way, his smile meant more to me at the moment than Ashley’s did. I’d known him all my life, so I’d grown to trust his judgment. If he thought something was fun; it was. If he thought something was best undone; it was. If he believed that I would be safe; I would be.

Another girl walked over to C.C. and I could tell by the sad look on her pale face that she wasn’t very happy to see Gretchen, on his arm. However, she didn’t make a fuss about it. She did however ask him to sign her chest and believe it or not, Gretchen let him. I knew she was perfect for him. Jake and Jinxx managed to sneak off to god knows where, but unfortunately Ashley was caught before we could sneak away.

A tall-ish girl, with dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and slutty clothing giddily made her way over to Ashley. Naturally at the sight of her, I began to worry. What if Ashley likes her more than me? Why shouldn’t he? She’s gorgeous! Ashley must have seen my anxiety written all over my face, because he bent down and planted a soft kiss on my lips as soon as the girl arrived. My worries were once again lifted from my shoulders. I just hoped that the girl wouldn’t freak out.

She clamped her hands over her mouth, as a look of shock grew on her face. Ashley and I were prepared for the worst, as she opened her mouth. “Oh my god you guys are so cute!!!” I exclaimed. She smiled brightly and looked back and forth between Ashley and I. I could tell that I was blushing like crazy, and the fact that Ashley was laughing at my red face wasn’t helping. “I had no idea that Ashley was dating anyone. Wait you are dating right? If not you should, because you guys look perfect together!” She continued to obsess over us, before calling over the other girls. “By the way, my name is Melanie.” She said brightly. “These are Sally, Raven and Bridget. We are huge fans.” The other girls waved and said hello, but I could tell that Melanie was the most talkative.

“Are you and Ashley really dating?” Raven asked curiously. I recognized her as the girl, who was talking to C.C. (mostly because of the signed chest). As she spoke her bright purple eyes (Colored contacts) widened.

I smiled shyly and nodded, but Ashley was a bit bolder. “Fuck yes.” He responded. “No one fuck with her or you’ll have to deal with me.” He said jokingly, but I knew he really meant it.

All the girls laughed and a girl with short blonde hair (I think Sally) stuck out her hand to me. “I’m Sally.” She said. I guess I was right. “Let me just say that you and Ashley are adorable together.”

“Thank you.” I responded with a small giggle. I shook her hand and smiled. “I’m Heather by the way. I’m Andy’s cousin.”

“Really?” Sally asked in amazement.

I nodded. “What’s it like being related to Andy?” Bridget asked shyly, but I could hear the eagerness in her voice.

“It’s great.” I responded sincerely. “Honestly, he’s more like a big brother than a cousin to me. He practically raised me.” I shrugged, leaning onto Ashley. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on my shoulders.

“Awww.” They all said together. Melanie put her hands over her heart.

Raven snapped a picture with her iPhone and smiled hugely. “Do you mind if I post this on twitter?” She asked hopefully.

“Not at all.” Ashley smiled. Raven let out a little squeak of excitement, when Ashley continued. “In fact, come here.” He said and gestured for the girls to huddle around us. Ashley stole Raven’s phone and took a photo of all of us. “Tweet me that picture when you get home, okay?” Ashley asked happily.

She blushed deeply and nodded her head like crazy. “Yes, of course!”

“Ashley I think we have to go.” I said. He looked over to where I was pointing and found Jake waving his arms at us.

“Come on you guys!” He called. “The plane’ll be here soon.”

Ashley laughed a wonderful laugh and adjusted his backpack strap. “Alright, alright! We’re coming!” He shook each girl’s hand, causing all of them to blush. “It was great meeting you all, but we have to leave.” They all pouted, but no one argued. I waved to them brightly, as we walked back and they enthusiastically waved back.

“Goodbye Ashley and Heather!” Raven shouted to us.

Ashley turned around and pointed to her. “I’ll be waiting for the picture.” He told her and smiled.

We had to run the rest of the way to our gate, to avoid being late. Ashley carried me on his back, because I was slowing him down. Luckily, none of us missed the plane. In fact, we were some of the first people on it. I sat in my seat between Ashley and Andy and rested my head on Andy’s shoulder. “Andy.” I said, closing my eyes.

“Yeah?” he asked, looking down at me.

“You have great fans.” I said, smiling to myself.

“I know.” Andy replied, calmly. Even though my eyes were closed, I could tell he was smiling. With any luck, that’s how all of the army would react to me. Well… I’d find out soon enough, I guess.
