PETER KNOWS THAT his responsibility as Spider-Man wouldn't become any more easier than it was in high school, but he extremely underestimated how hard it would be in college. More essays and homework pile up as his freshman continues, and he's still swinging from building to building, stopping crime, and completely disregarding his student responsibilities.

And he's constantly reminding himself and Ned that he'll fix his problems. That he'll get essays for his professors in by the time of the due date; that he'll stop leaving all of his stuff everywhere in their dorm; that he won't get hurt during his rounds. Peter is feeding himself and his friends empty promises he know he can't keep.

Maybe it's the stress that's getting to him. He's slowly falling asleep in class, but the cute boy that sits beside him has to constantly poke him until Peter opens his eyes and mutters a "I'm awake, I'm awake!" Everything is falling apart, and Peter needs to get his shit together.

But he doesn't, and instead of getting a late start to his homework every night, Peter finds himself standing in front of the cafe Cute Boy From Class works at. Peter's noticed he always locks up, but Cute Boy doesn't notice Peter.

         Until, of course, he does.

Soon, Spider-Man and Cute Boy (who he soon finds out is named Brendon) have a friendship made over the coffee they have after midnight. And although Peter (Spider-Man) hates the bitter taste of it, he sucks it up, because he enjoys going to the cafe late at night.

And Peter enjoys the brief moment of freedom and stress-free, the thought of homework flying out of the window.

He enjoys the coffee after midnight, but most of all, he enjoys Brendon Winchester's company.
