Paris's POV

"Paris! Can you come for a sec?" Sadie called me from the roof. I groaned. Why now? I'm too busy playing with Shelby, one of our younger initiates, otherwise known as the Ankle-Biters.

"Coming!" I yelled back, half-heartedly, "Shelby, I have to go. Stay here coloring until I get back." I said. She nodded and did as told.

When I got there, I saw Sadie holding something, looking very troubled. I wonder why Sadie looks uncomfortable...

When I came closer, I realized it was a stick shaped hairpin. Okay?

"Hey, Sadie, what's wrong?" I asked her gently. She looked at me, and tears welled up in her eyes. Uh-oh. This is bad. She never cries. Sadie fished a letter out of her pocket. She handed me the letter. I read it out loud:

Dear Sadie Kane,

In the package this letter came with, there is a hair pin. It is my birthday present for your cousin, Paris. As soon as she touches it, she will be transported to a place of her own kind. And in case you're wondering, no, her kind aren't Egyptian magicians. I cannot tell you further than this.

Sincerely, the Mother of Paris Kane.

When I finished reading, my jaw dropped open. A place for my own kind? What does this mean? And my mother? Finally! She sends me a signal of life! But I am also angry at her. For not being there with me for thirteen years.

"Well, what do I do?" I asked. Sadie shook her head miserably.

"You have to decide. This is your fate. Your choices." She replied.

"Then I will go now." I said. I don't know how, but I felt a burst of confidence surge through me.

"What?!" Sadie asked. I nodded gravely.

"I must." I said. Sadie nodded, crying silently.

"I will return, no matter what." I said bravely. She merely nodded, and put out the hand that held the pin. I took it, and felt the world spinning. I landed in a massive, packed-with-people dining hall. I crashed into the tables, and stood back up. I felt extremely dizzy this time.

"Where am I?" I asked the strangers. A centaur answered me.

"You are at Camp Half Blood. What is your name, dear?" He asked. Camp Half Blood? Crazy name.

"My name is Paris Kane." As soon as I said this, the centaur looked taken aback.

"A Kane! You are not part of this world!" He said. I shrugged.

"My mother sent me a letter and a pin that brought me here." I said. After saying it out loud, it sounded quite ridiculous.

"May I see them?" Mr. Horsie asked. I nodded. I handed them out to him. He quickly read the letter and examined the pin. Suddenly, the campers gasped. They were looking at something above my head. I looked, and saw the same stick as my pin. Finally, centaur man spoke. Something that probably changed my life forever.

"All hail, Paris Kane, daughter of Hecate, goddess of magic and crossroads."

What? I repeat. What? What's going on? What the heck is this? Greek gods? Hecate is my mother? What...?

"What?" I asked.

"Come with me. I will explain everything." Señor Centaur said.

He lead me to a gigantic house. He said it was the Big House. He also said his name was Chiron.

In his office, he told me the Greek gods were real, my mom is Hecate, how this camp is in New York, but I can't visit Brooklyn House (which I thought was extremely unfair), blah, blah, blah, orientation video, Hecate's cabin, how I have to keep my Egyptian part a secret, and can only tell three people, blah, blah, blah. After what seemed like a decade, he let me go outside. He told me to ask for a girl named April McLean. She would give me the tour of camp.

As I stepped outside, I took in my surroundings. Many campers were shooting arrows, some were climbing a bizarre-looking mountain with lava, some were canoeing, and some were just sitting around talking. I have a feeling I'm going to have a good time here.

I went straight for a group of about seven people talking. I really don't know why them, they just seemed like they ruled Camp Half-Blood, and that would mean they probably know April McLean.

As I stopped before them, a nerdy-looking girl in the group looked at me. She said something to her friends. They all turned in my direction. I shifted from each foot uncomfortably, looking down.

"Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, Paris Kane.", I looked up. It was another nerdy girl. What's up with nerdy girls here?, "I am Rose Lupin, daughter of Athena."

"I'm Annabeth Chase, also a daughter of Athena." The first nerdy girl said.

"The name's Leo. Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus." A scrawny guy said.

"Piper McLean. Aphrodite." A very pretty girl said.

"Percy Jackson. Son of Poseidon." A guy that looked like a surfer introduced himself.

"Nico di Angelo. Son of Hades." An emo-looking guy said.

"April McLean. Daughter of Aphrodite." Another pretty girl said. Bingo.

"Oh! Chiron told me to look for you, so you can give me the tour!" I said, "and it's very nice to meet you all!" I said. They all smiled at me.

"Ok, then. C'mon!" She said, standing up, "and Rose, can you come with us?"

---Time Lapse---

I am currently staring up at the ceiling, a bit bored.

If anyone's wondering, I became good friends with Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Leo, and Nico, but Rose and April are definitely the best. I don't know how, but we just clicked together like old buds. We laughed and talked, shared secrets, and did stuff normal teenagers would do.

I kept thinking about them, and slowly felt my eyelids droop. I guess this is where I leave you. Good Night!
