The Cup Athena had to Bear

She is the Athena of their own Mount Olympus,
A household where only her old man
Has a say to everything,
And their household was probably cursed
Because even though she was a product of first love,
Of uncontrolled feeling and desire...
Everything started out wrong.

It was because of words took to heart,
She almost lost her life.
And because of this cursed recurrent incident of birth,
In all of the generation of her forefathers,
She became the victim of the cursed oracle.

Thus, her fate made her stronger.
She had to be strong
Because she had to fight the odds of life.
And despite almost getting killed
By her own blood,
She became the favorite
Which led to greater things to look forward to.

She was the heiress of wisdom,
Of reason,
And of purity,
Which she inherited from her mother, most likely;
The heiress of a leader's responsibility
As her sire was the highest
In their own tiny Mount Olympus.
And because of this,
Many people adored her;
Many people thought truly high of her.

They worshiped her godly beauty,
Which surpassed all the other maidens' in their territory;
They praised her fierceness in all kinds of battles she has won,
She exalted her as the pride of all ages.
All the gifts and strengths,
The power bestowed to her,
They glorified all of her totality.

She was like the most perfect goddess,
The most skilled leader,
And the most high of them all.
She possessed the wisdom
no one can ever surmount.
Of course, she had to be that way,
Not only was she born that way
But because she was already pressured to keep her image that way.

But then, no one knew of this,
No one knew of the pressure she felt,
No one discovered her hidden sadness,
the desires she had to repress.
No one ever asked her about how she feels
Just because she projected a sense of control,
A face that says "I am well."
She couldn't possibly show her down side
Because it would totally become her Achilles.
She couldn't possibly show her flaws,
Or else she will become like that of Ares.
She couldn't possibly live as her true self,
Because the true Athena is judged by what others' eyes reflect.

Athena,
The goddess of just another Mount Olympus,
The perfect daughter who wished to live simply,
The goddess who seemed to be flawless,
Has thousands of words and feelings,
She couldn't show to the world
Because of the cup she had to bear.
