When Ares becomes the "Good Guy"

Once...
He was despised by his own blood,
They were ashamed of his existence
Thus, hating him to the moon and back.
For the reason,
As the koreans put it,
Just because.

Now...
He works hard to be a good son,
Someone they would feel proud of,
Even the stars would feel jealous of...
But no, no one dared to care,
They just took him as
Someone who needed attention
So they didn't care about him, nonetheless.

Once...
He was always seen as dangerous and outrageous,
Wherever he went,
Fear and panic would arise,
Harmony was never on his side,
It was always chaos wherever he goes.

Now...
He masked himself with a never fading smile,
A gleeful and sincere laughter,
An innocent face the crowd would love.
But they didn't like him nonetheless
Thinking that his innocence will soon fade
Or his innocence is just his façade
Which will later on make the world mad.

Once...
He was the star of all humiliation.
He became a laughing stock
For all the gods and godesses to see.
They valued him less and less.

Now...
He avoided all the possibilities of humiliation.
He did his best
To become the star of appreciation
But the gods and godesses were not impressed
Thinking he would soon humiliate himself.

Once...
He got outrageous of getting hurt,
Of just a small scratch on his shoulder.
He was outrageous because,
No one ever knew this,
The wound was deep
And the pain is killing him.
And they mocked him for that,
Saying he is such a cry baby.

Now...
He got a really deep wound
But he but his lips
For him not to let out a single word,
A single expression of the pain.
He maintained a straight face
Even though the pain was excruciating.
They thought it was just a scratch,
No one even dared to ask
If he wasn't hurt that much.

Once...
He loved one woman very much,
He loved her that he treasured her a lot,
He loved her that he sided with her all the time.
But his love towards her was a curse,
Another of her lover
Showed him the naked truth of how dangerous loving was.
And so he loved more,
But the more he loved,
The more cursed his life got.

The thing is,
Ares was always seen as the bad one
And so he thought he could be the good one.
But the more serious he was in becoming a better guy,
The more judgement and criticism he got.
Whatever he did or however he changed,
They never got pleased.

And there are a lot more Areses in the world,
Who hopes to be embraced for who they are,
Who they can be and for who they want to be.

To the gods and godesses,
Would you accept the changed man, Ares?
