You can without any problem choose one popular business idea like some of the ones we will be outlining later in this story. But to create a unique niche for yourself, you will need more than a popular business idea to stand out. If Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page, Jack Ma, and all the other internet gurus we know today had gone with what was popular when they started their businesses from home, they wouldn't have given the world revolutionary platforms like Facebook, Amazon, Google, Alibaba, etc.

Well, it all depends on how big your short and long-term goals are. If all you want is to make some extra income, you may not need to become too creative before you achieve your goals, but if you're going to make your mark and have your reach in all parts of the world, you will need to think outside the box like these men I just mentioned.

Nevertheless, whatever your dreams are, you will find these following tips useful for finding your own unique home based business idea(s):

Go it alone

As you start out trying to create the best and most feasible business idea for your home-based business, you have two options to choose from; either go with what you know or collaborate with someone else. It does not have to be your unique idea before you can make a success of your home-based business.

Assuming you decide to go solo, let's discuss how you can execute this:

-Go with your idea

If you do not want to collaborate with a friend, family member or colleague; there is nothing wrong with going solo. But before you start out alone, you must be sure you have a very feasible idea and plan to achieve it. There are several places you can pay attention to when it comes to generating your unique business idea as a solo home-based entrepreneur. Here are some options to look into:

· Look around the organization where you work.

Most times, the million-dollar idea you need to break through from home is right there in the organization where you work (assuming you already have a job). Look around and pay attention to details and trending discussions to know what problems are plaguing the company and what needs the management have not been able to meet. Once you can identify a pressing issue in your society and set to work to find a solution to it, you are already in business. I know several self-made home-based entrepreneurs today who started out by coming up with a solution for a problem that had defied all resolutions in the organization where there were once employees. And such answers were all they needed to change status from employees to business partners.

The company where you work presently can become your first major client. However, this can only be possible if you have developed yourself enough to come up with proposals that can tackle problems threatening to bury such organizations.

· Dig for information

Sometimes, the only thing that differentiates those who succeed and those who fail is the amount of data they have gathered. Even if you want to do what no one has ever done, ideas don't just come out from nowhere.

No matter how unique the idea is, it must stem from somewhere. Bill Gates didn't have to invent anything new to become the indisputable world wealthiest man - he only needed to give us a better way to use the computer through Microsoft.

Therefore, search for relevant information on your chosen areas of interest. Look for what has people have done, what others are doing and the possible opportunities you can discover. The internet is there to give you millions or ideas on any topic. When you sieve through these general ideas, think and brainstorm them, something new and unique is likely to drop in your mind.
