Kate's POV

"So uh what did they give you?" Adam asked cautiously as I sat on the couch with all my thing still in my hands.

I looked straight ahead.

"Kate?" Adam said this while shaking me a bit.

"I have no clue," I said honestly.

"Well you gonna open it," Damien cut in.

My head shot up and I stared at him.

"Or not," he mumbled.

I gripped the little package Rodney gave me.

Looking at it I slowly unwrapped it.

As I came to it I saw it was a necklace. One that opened.

Engraved on it had Forever.

I opened it and on one side there was a small picture of me, Rodney, and Helena.

We were all wrapped up in front of the Ferris wheel. I remember that.

We had gone to the fair at night and got some old guy who didn't know how to work the camera took our picture.

I had a huge smile as Rodney's arms were around me and Helena was laughing.

I wiped tears back and read the little words on the other side.

They read, Friends Never Leave You.

It says love us at the bottom.

I put it on quickly deciding I'd never take it off.

Everyone around me was silent as I went to open the large box.

I really had no clue what it was at all. Why would she give me something so big.

Slowly I took the paper around it off then I opened the box to see a violet color.

On top there was a little clutch.

It was really pretty. I picked it out of the box and opened it.

Inside there was a card and then aside it a huge wad of cash.

It was rolled into a cylinder.

Taking it out carefully I stared at it in disbelieve.

Peeling the card open I read.

Kate,

I love you so much and happy birthday. I know you won't admit it but I can tell your getting ready to run away. I also know your broke. I've been saving this for something important or just a rainy day. There is nothing more important than you.

"How much is that?" I heard Damien say.
