Hi, my name is Wild101Life, I am autistic and I desire to be a Zoologist. Ever since I was young, I have love animals and discover that studying their behavior is my talent and having autism helps me to understand animals and how they see the world. So this will explain why I will talk about what I learn from Happy Trails, from books I have read and autism. You are free to ask any question at any time and I do have my research journals here, so if you want to come up later to see what progress I have made in the past 4 years, you can.

My research of animals helps get into there world. I volunteer at Happy Trails Farm and I have to say I learn a lot. I knew animals are willing to forgive people even after they been abused, but now I know first hand that animals can sense if a person can be trusted again and many animals are willing to forgive their owners (may not want to see them again). They won't let one bad example of a human being ruin their relationship with other people. Happy Trails take in abused, abandoned and neglected animals, yet the animals know they going to a better place, much like a child in the same situation. They just know that things are going to change.

...........Pause for dramatic effect............(Don't say this line).....................

I also learn both about animals and autism though the a book called "Using the Mysterious of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior" by Temple Grandin. My favorite quote from this book is "Autism made school and social life hard, but it made animals easy" (page 1, paragraph 2). That one simple line should tell you enough of who I am. Autism doesn't define me it helps me to see and think of an animal.

Going to Happy Trails really helped me to exercise my talent of reading animal behavior. I thought there was not a lot of people who cares for animals as much as me or at least know them, but at Happy Trails they care, they believe that animals are beautiful, intelligent creatures that shouldn't suffer.

I have been studying animals for four years now and I discover more information that makes me love them everyday. Here an example of the most feared predator out their, a Tiger, but when you see a killer, I see a mother, a protector, a animal that should be respect. This is what I see in every animal.

I want to show the world the power of a disability can be when you encourage, let them grow and let their passion take hold. I don't have autism, I have autistic abilities, it's the same thing, but with autistic abilities it should make you think that anything is possible. A lot of people have disabilities some allow their weakness hold them back, but there is some that is proud of what they have and allow it to take hold, so the person can grow.

So in conclusion, going to Happy Trails made me grow a little more and open my eyes a little wider. My dream may become a zoologist but my goal is a lot more deeper than just a career. I want to make a difference on how people view autism and animals. We should treat animals with the deepest respect because when finally comes crashing down, are we really that different.

I want to end with a statement, go to Happy Trails and asked for Dekota, tell me what flaw you see in this beautiful horse besides being blind because that is the only reason he's not getting adopted. We as in people who have any kind of disability are powerful. The only way to overcome a disability is not seeing it as one and allowing it to help you, don't fight the gift that the Lord has given you.
