8: The Bridge

The elevator that Ember and I went into was one of two elevators that went down to the bridge. They were side by side and people or... cat people were cramming into them. I was beginning to wonder how big this place actually was. I held onto the handle bars that were stationed around the walls of the elevator. I still felt woozy and I was trying to think, doing my best it ignore the hushed whispers of those in the elevator. Ember seemed to keep them back at least. So... this Storm... me... I thought try to puzzle everything together. Was... hurt badly? And now for some reason I am her? Talk about the art of possessing things.

Everything flashed around me for a minute, it was dark and then light and then dark again. That light looked vaguely like I was staring into my bedroom, but it was there and gone faster than I could keep up. It was still dark, and I realized that my eyes were closed. I opened them slowly and my heart sank when I was still in the elevator with Ember and the few other cat people.

The elevator came to a stop and the door's opened up making a swoosh sound. The same swoosh the door in the room I woke up in made. Ember swung my arm over her shoulders and helped me walk out of the elevator.

The bridge room was full of people, animals of a few different species and not just cats, there were two pilot seats, a huge front window looking into the stars, and panels upon panels full of buttons, levers, tiny screens, microphones, headsets, wires, and electronics that looked like tablets. Just behind the two pilot seats was a very comfortable looking seat, there were buttons all along the arm of the chairs, and a lever that pulled down a speaker where no doubt this "Marcus" had been speaking into.

So this was a spaceship... huh.

It looked like everyone in this place had gathered into the one room. There were mostly cat people, but I saw at least five who weren't total cats. There was a tall lion guy (still technically a cat but like, a bigger version) with short fur that was tan yellow, he had two dark brown eyes, extremely broad shoulders, thick medium length legs, two short and round ears, round and muscular face, gray paw pads and fingertips, thick white and gray claws, a waist that was just as wide as his chest, which was wide and extremely buff, and a brownish gray nose. He had a thick brown mane and big brown tuft at the end of his tail. He had huge hands, giant paws, and a long and powerful tail. He had what looked like a laser Rifle strapped to his back, visor goggles on the top of his head squishing down his mane, and a pair of metal boots where only his toes protruded.

There was an extremely short rabbit with short and smooth tan fur that reminded me of honey. She had two big forest green eyes, extremely narrow shoulders (almost non-existent without looking too weird), long skinny legs, two really tall and fluffy ears, round and fluffy face, bright pink paw pads and fingertips, tiny gray and black claws, extremely tiny waist, hardly any breasts, and a bright pink nose. She had a few dark tan blotches on her hips and face, ear tips, and fingertips. Her belly is white along with the bottom half of her tail. She had small hands with long and bony fingers, and tiny, round paws. She looked agitated and restless. She had a pair of odd looking goggles around her neck, a strange looking dagger that glowed, strapped to her waist, and small foot wraps around her paws and legs.

Then there was a tall, shockingly white wolf with slightly curly, medium length fur. He had two stunning blue eyes that looked like galaxies, broad shoulders, long legs, two very tall narrow ears, a long narrow snout, jet black paw pads and fingertips, thick midnight black claws, a washboard waist, slim and buff torso, and a darker than black nose. He had light gray ear tips, fingertips, toes, and the very end of his tail. He had big hands, with long fingers, large paws, and a fluffy tail. He was wearing  a pair of black headphones around his neck, a big sky blue bracelet, and a smaller electric blue bracelet on the same wrist. He looked expressionless but mildly amused. It was a miracle he kept his fur so clean... I didn't want to think about it.

Second to last, there was a short, red and white panda with slightly long, fluffy fur. He had two bright brown eyes, narrow shoulders, short legs, two big round ears, very rounded face, pink paw pads and fingertips, thick white claws, an average waist, averagely wide torso, and a gray nose. He had a few thin white stripes going down his back, white ear tips, white muzzle and face, white toes, white thumbs, and a white tip on his tail. He had very large hands, very large paws, and a thick and round fluffy tail. He was wearing round glasses and a stethoscope around his neck, he was no doubt a doctor.

Finally, there was a maned wolf who was a tall, gangly, and rusty red. He had extremely short and neat fur, two hazel eyes that were flashing to gray at some angles in the light, very broad shoulders, extremely long legs, two extremely large and tall ears, a long narrow snout, thick and short black claws, slim but buff torso, a washboard waist, a sharp and narrow face with large cheek bones, and black ear tips, paws, hands, and tip of the tail. There were also strange, thin looking white lightning stripes along his thighs. He had large, bony hands, big paws, and a tail that looks like a fox tail. He was wearing  two gold earrings, a necklace with an electric blue ball that had a constellation inside of it, and foot-wraps that wrapped all the way up just past his knees. 

The constellation... if I wasn't mistaken was... the Orion Constellation? But... how?

The rusty red wolf had his arms out awkwardly as if he was going to start conducting a band. He had a huge smile on his face that showed sharp and deadly looking fangs. He fumbled around frantically for a moment to get everyone's attention (which didn't take long because he looked so funny), he cleared his throat and waved at the arctic wolf to come up beside him. The headset wolf did a little smirk and stood up from his seat and walked up to stand next to the maned wolf.

"Attention everyone!" The maned wolf said, flailing his arms and then throwing them on the arctic wolf. "I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A BOYFRIEND TO THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY!!" There was dead silence, and a few people made some happy sounds for him, others looked slightly annoyed they had to walk all the way over here for this moment. Fifi, the red cat, seemed to look the happiest in the crowd, even clapping happily with a few others.

He lifted up a finger and shook it. "You all know that's not the reason I called you all down here, I've been boyfriends with Mr. Twinkle Toes for years now." He said shaking his head slightly, smirking. "As you can see we will be approaching a planet in a few hours and we will need Elva to scan it for alien life forms." He glanced at the jack rabbit for a moment who nodded her head silently.

He scanned the crowd for a moment, his eyes nearing me as he spoke. "Doctor Jacob will be checking in on Storm again to see her... current..." His voice trailed off as they locked with mine. At first there was no change of emotion, then his eyes slowly widened. 

"AM I SEEING A GHOST!?"
