Emery sighed.
"After all that I've done for you-"
"It not because of that," Alina said. "Because you were not created like the rest of us, we don't want you to have offspring."
"I put it in the nicer way, but essentially, yes," Emery confirmed.
"Not fair! Are you kidding me right now? Don't you want to introduce some new abilities, or multiple abilities into the gene pool?"
"That's what I said," Oralie said exasperated.
The other councillors glared at her. Other than Bronte and Terik of course, who agreed.
"I see how that could have its advantages..." Emery said. He turned to the other councillors in a telepathic discussion.
"We have come to the decision that you can have your scroll." Emery said.
"YES!!" Sophie said.
"BUT," Emery said.
Sophie gulped. She knew there would be a catch.
"We will be..."
