Blaze’s POV

The day was finally here. And this time I would go all the way through with it. Here I sat at a table out by the water. There were candles all over and lights hung up in the trees. Rose petals covered the ground and a harpist played in the corner.

“Blaze what’s going on? I found this dress on the bed with the note saying to put it on and come down here.” Her words were cut short as I finally came into her view. Immediately she stopped, glued to the rock she was on.

“Mia you look breath taking as usual. I must thank Annie for helping me pick it out.” I had convinced, quite easily, Annie to help me pick out a gorgeous little white dress that I had placed with a note and a box of diamond earrings on the bed.

“What’s all this?” Slowly, cautiously, she moved down the steps, almost like she was afraid if she moved everything would disappear.

“This is all for you sweetie. I wanted to have a romantic evening with my love. Ever since you left I realized something. That if I ever found you I’d do everything in my power to never let you go. I got the chef to make us a glorious dinner and I have your favorite red velvet cheese cake for dessert.

We talked for hours just being ourselves. Looking back I see how crazy love is. I see how god purposefully put her in my life. Before her I was lost. I used girls like they were toys. But honestly I did it because I was afraid to love. I was afraid to be hurt. I had seen the way my mother and father treated each other. There was no love between them. Sure they were polite but they didn’t look at each other the way I look at Mia. They didn’t laugh and have food fights.

“Would you like to dance Mia?”

“Of course, my love.” I took her hand and felt her melt into me. I felt her heart beating against mine. The love in her eyes made me sure of the answer she would give me.

“Mia, darling, I need to ask you something. I have loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you. I never realized how incomplete my life was until I lost you. Losing you I lost myself. I gave into the darkness. I knew that if you weren’t in my life I had no point to live. I never thought I’d ever be a husband. Not in my entire life. I couldn’t picture waking up next to a woman then taking children to school and soccer practice. But then I met you. I want to wake up next to you every morning. I want to cook you breakfast and have tickle fights. I want you to be the mother of my many children. I want to massage your feet when you’re pregnant and run to the store to get you the crazy cravings I am sure you’ll have. I want to grow old with you, every day, and every minute.” Getting down on one knee I said the words I had wanted to say for months. “Mia, will you make me the happiest man in the universe and marry me?”

My heart began to sink as she just stood there with her mouth wide open. No words came out of her mouth. Standing up I held in the tears I knew were coming.

“I understand if you say no Mia, after all we are still in high school.”

“Yes.” She barely uttered the word.

“What?” I watched with uncertainty as her face broke into a giant smile.

“I said yes. Yes ill marry you. A thousand times yes.” With all the passion I had a smashed my lips into her. I couldn’t get enough of her. My hands pressed her into me, as close as she could get.

Mia’s POV

Sunlight woke me up. Was this real or a dream. Slowly I touched my finger to the big stone that sat on my hand. Blinking, my eyes roam over the candles and roses that covered the room from last night.

“Good morning my love, I thought we could have breakfast in bed.” Walking in, he placed a tray of pancakes and fruit in front of us.

“My knight in shining armor, come to rescue me again.” How did I ever get so lucky as to find a man like Blaze? After I had said yes to him he had carried me up to the room which had been covered in roses and candles. I was so in love with him. Nothing could be better than this.

“Actually I was waking you so you can start getting ready for school.” I couldn’t help the frown that formed on my lips. I just wanted to stay cuddled in bed. Blaze kissed my cheek before leaving me to get ready. I quickly ran a brush through my curls before tying my bangs back with a white ribbon. Today was one of the days I was thankful we had to wear the uniform shirt and skirt. Soon enough I was back standing in front of the brick school.

“It’s crazy to think that senior year is here and were engaged.” Blaze’s spoke at the same time his hand wrapped around hers. It was weird how much things had changed yet the school and all the faces looked exactly the same. It seemed that the talk of the school was about their engagement, from the size of the ring to why. Since it was senior year most of the teachers were taking it easy on everyone. We were making senior slide shows and senior scrapbooks and enjoying are final year together. Soon enough the girls and I were sitting underneath the big oak tree eating lunch.

“Hey fiancée, I never get tired of saying that.” His arms wrapped around me and instantly made me relax. With all the people staring and whispering all I wanted to do was go back home.

Blaze’s POV

Ever since we got home Mia’s been sitting outside. She hasn’t said a word.

“Mia darling, will you please tell me what’s wrong. I can’t stand the silent treatment.” Bending down I took her hands in mine and looked her straight in the eyes.

“You know how horrible my life was before I met you. You’ve given me this life I never dreamed about. Today everyone was talking about where there going because our time in high school is almost over. I know your dreams have always been to take over your dads business. I don’t want to hold you back.”

“Why in the world do you think you would hold me back?”

“Because…” Looking down she slowly pushed a pregnancy test into my hand.
