Chapter 3

Amber's POV

"Oh stop being such a baby," I joked.

"But it's hard," Jacob whined for the fifth time this hour.

"Jacob it's only been an hour since we started. Oh I know that look we are not going to the store and buying cupcakes. Amelia knows if they are store bought it not. She always knows." A shiver went down my spine.

"Come on it's easier than sarctch made." He gave me puppy dog eyes.

"No, I'm not letting up on this Jac."

"Please," he begged again.

"No, now get back to work or else the deals off." Talking about breaking the deal hurt me.

I don't know why but it does. I know it hurt him to just by the way his face changes. I know I wouldn't break it but I just fake that I would.

"Fine, I'll get back to work." Jacob threw his hands up in the air and got back to work.

"Thank you," I smiled and got back to what I assigned myself.

HOURS LATER

"Finally done," Jacob sighed and threw himself on the couch.

"Yeah," I wiped my forehead and sat beside him.

"Yo, Ber are you guys making out or is it safe to come down?" Adam yelled.

"Shut up Adam!" I yelled feeling heat come up to my face.

Jacob let out a laugh. "You can come down dude."

"Thank the heavens," Adam sighed and made his way down. "So, I heard you two were making cupcakes."

"Not for you. Their for Amelia, it's her birthday Sunday. Remember dumpy?"

Adam's facial expression dropped. It's like he's seen a ghost. "A-Amelia? As in Amelia Agreste?"

"Yeah, why?"

"That little girl gives me the freaks." He shivered.

"Oh don't be a baby. She's an angel. You're going to scare Jacob." I laughed.

Jacob laughed, "what could a 9 year old do anyways?"

"Lots of things." Adam gripped Jacobs shirt. "Scary things. Things from your nightmare scary. Don't get on her bad side or else." Adam let Jacob go and slide a finger across his neck.

"Oh stop being a wuss Adam." I laughed.

Jacob laughed, "yeah Adam."

"Whatever, just watch your back Sunday Jacob." Adam slowly backed out of the room.

A howl came from outside and I jumped.

"Don't be scared Amber." Jacob wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "It's nothing."

His touch is sent electric through my skin. I smiled, "nothing? I didn't know there were wolves in Washington."

"There are wolves everywhere," another howl came.

"Okay," I smiled up at him.

Jacob sighed as another howl came closer than before. "I would love to stay longer but I have to go."

"Why?" I sighed sadly.

"Because it's already 8:00pm and my mom's going to worry." He stood and I stood up as well.

"Okay fine." I sighed and gave him a hug. "I'll see you Sunday remember noon."

Jacob hugged back, "how could I ever forget."
