I grab Riley just as we reach the classroom, holding her tight.
We laugh as we stay like that until we reach our desks.
That's when Farkle approaches us.
He stands in front of us for while, then says
"I'm happy you're safe Maya"
"Thanks Farkle" I say.
Then he turns to Riley.
He says her name, then he hugs her tight.
They stay like that for a while, so I leave them there.
That's when I see Smackle, reading a book on her desk.
I walk over to her, and when she notices I'm standing in front of her, she closes the book and looks up.
"Greetings Maya, glad to have you back in one piece" she says.
"Hahaha thank you I'm so happy to be here" I answer.
She smiles at me.
"Hey, thanks for taking care of Riley while I was gone"
"That was nothing" she replies.
"You took good care of her"
"Thanks"
We stay like that for a while.
Then I say, "Hey Smackle, something really good is going to come out of all of this, isn't it?"
She smiles, then says "Affirmative"
I smile and nod, "That's nice".
Then she taps me and I look back at her.
"Hey, are you ever going to do this again?"
And I think back to the past few weeks. Though it was nice for a while and I learned a lot, I'd never repeat that.
So I say,
"Negative"
