Piece By Piece (GMW Fanfic)

Part 11: Maya

"Maya Hart? Is that actually you?"
I nod and look into the eyes of Shawn Hunter.
He taps my face once.
"Its actually you! You're not a ghost!"
I smile and nudge my head towards the house. He follows it and snaps back.
"Oh right!" he says, "come in, come in."
I step into his house and follow him into the living room.
We sit down on the couch.
"So," he starts, "I heard what happened. How are you?"
I sigh and begin to tell him.
I even tell him about the encounter with Riley.
After the story, he asks, "So whats your plan?"
"I have'nt thought much about it, but..."
He looks at me in question.
"Well, I was hoping I could stay here for a while and you won't tell them where I am" I say.
He looks away, then turns back to me after a while .
"Maya, I know you're mother's pretty worried. Even the Matthews family. You gotta go back."
"Just one more week" I negotiate.
He hesitates.
"Oh c'mon. I promise I'll go back. Next week even. Just let me stay here for the week. Please."
He sighs.
"Alright"
"Don't tell them where I am"
"Uh..."
"Please, Shawn"
He hesitates.
"Fine."
I get up and hug him.
"Thanks"
He looks down in an awkward way and sorta smiles.
"Uh...sure."
I let go of him and flop on the couch.
He sits beside me.
"Please just do me a favor."
"What?" I ask.
He sees Riley's phone in my hand.
"That's Riley's right?"
I look down at the phone with its purple cat case.
"Yeah"
"I wont tell them where you are"
"Okay..."
"Just tell them where Riley is"
"Ok"
I unlock the phone and search the map until I find the street of the convenience store.
I post the locations on her social media apps.
Last known location of Riley Matthews.
"There" I say, putting down the phone.
"Good"
He sits down on the chair opposite the sofa and thinks.
"You know, I tried to contact you last week" I say.
"Yeah?" he asks.
"Yeah" I say, "I even bought this new sim and stuff"
"Is that why you went to that convenience store?"
"Yes"
"But why would you try to contact me, out of all people?"
I look up to him.
"Because I know you can help me find myself"

Aaaand its almost done!
Im soooo happy 😁
Just a few more parts to go.

Anyways :)
Been really busy. This quarter has got me FULL with group projects, sigh. Am very thankful my groupmates are responsible 😂
Just had a group meeting for one of the projects earlier. Very tired rn, plus I still have to study for an exam tomorrow 😑
Back to reality.
