Chapter 24- The orb of truth

Every mage was either fighting hard or healing and protecting the innocent and the injured. They were all tired and drained and they all just wanted this to end. Wendy and Carla were making notes of the dead; Erza and Mavis where trying to reach Valentine.

All of a sudden a bright white light shone from where the door was hovering above Tenrou Island as 3 stellar mages had stopped the constant flow of demons...

Lucy pov

We're now in the archives of the fey realms after we looked at the archives of the Celestial Spirit world and the Angel realms. The fey realms has the oldest documents so we hope that we'll be able to find a way to stop this.

Here everything is in more detail, than what was in the other realms, with copied down spells in simpler and translatable languages.

All together we put our left hands on the orb that was glowing in the centre of the room levitating above us.

It was the orb of truth. It was our only hope of winning this war if it gave us help.

We all placed our keys into the slots that were shaped for them.

Hisui pov

We were suddenly transported somewhere far away. A beautiful place of magic and peace.

 The hidden lands.

The place with both darkness and light.

The balance itself.

But why was it showing us the balance.

I finally realised, this was the past.

Five women were in a circle all holding hands, focusing all their energy and concentration on one point, Valentine.

They defeated him but with the cost of their lives.

They were the originals: Layla Heartfillia, Pearl of Bosco, Cristina Aguria, Verma of The hidden lands and Lena of Fiore.

Yukino pov

We suddenly new what we had to do.

We suddenly came to the conclusion that we were going to.

But we didn't accept the fact that we were going to die as suddenly.

But we knew what we had to do and even though we'd be cutting our lives short and possibly causing our friends and family additional emotional pain. But if it's to protect them then we'll do it.

We contacted Mavis telling her to make sure Valentine was dead given the signal.

Then we let the orb take us to the battle, our wings out, weapons levitating in the air around us and every angel, celestial spirit, and fey summoned.

Lucy pov

The light was blinding. It was overwhelming almost too much.

This was the signal. This was what we had told Mavis to look out for to kill Valentine.

I really hope this works...

Mavis pov

I have my body back now, but only until Valentine dies. I'm still not alive in this body anyway, I just possessed it temporarily.

If I'm correct then they might just about make it. They're stronger than the originals were and Valentine's weaker. I really do believe that they just might make it. It's a 2.123456789876 chance.

All I have to do is make sure Valentine's dead, while they have to purify everything to regain the balance.

The problem is that it would take a lot for them to do that, and it's  not one of those times where everyone can do it. The balance is sensitive in that way, it is quite specific on who or it could ruin everything.

I go and aim for Valentine making sure I put some force into the attack. The spear hit him straight through the heart and now he's looking at me in surprise and shock.

His red venom eyes are still wide open as he falls to the ground.

Good luck girls, it's up to you now.

Natsu pov

I'm now scared for Luce. I can see her up there and I know they're planning something. The Valentine guy is now dead with one of Mavis' pointy things that I can't remember the name of going through his heart, if he even has a heart that is.

The light brightened which until now I didn't know was possible.

Everyone passed out as it got brighter and more confusing.

I love you Luce...      So come back to me...

Lucy pov

The purifying began and they all fell as it got too overwhelming to take, but we remained strong, remembering the ones we love and hold dear.

I heard muttering from various people:

Good luck girls, it's up to you now.  - Mavis

We won't let you down...

What are you doing Bunnygirl? your making Levy cry. -Gajeel

Gray-sama and Juvia miss love rival. -Juvia

Whatever your thinking, don't do it Lucy. -Erza

I love you Luce... So come back to me... -Natsu

Hisui pov

Lucy looked like she was going to cry, as we put more energy into the orb. Yukino was whispering quietly as if replying to the conversations she'd probably heard due to our enhanced hearing and telepathy. While I was trying not to hear what they were thinking.

But I couldn't block it all out...

Please don't do this, Hisui...     -Hogo-sha

I am going to miss you so much. I love you Hogo-sha Bosco.

A single tear rolled down my face as we gave the last of our power into the orb.

3rd person

With the last of their power already used to purify, they fell down to the ground as everyone else woke up. Their clothes were tattered, they were filthy and they had only a 2.123456789876% chance of living.

Natsu.

Sting.

Hogo-sha.

As they woke up they ran to go and catch the ones they love....
