I wake with a pounding headache. Every bone in my body aches as I blink, trying to get my vision to return. Finally, the blur transforms into a white-patterned ceiling and pink walls. I'm lying down, and I try to sit up, but the little movement causes a fresh wave of nausea to run through me. I fall back down onto the soft surface beneath me; I must be lying in bed. I twist my head around, recognizing the room I'm in: Lydia's bedroom.

All the memories come rushing back. I remember everything I thought I saw, everything I did, and lastly, passing out as pain pierced every pore in my body. I place my palms on the bed and push myself to a sitting position, wincing with every movement. I have no idea how long it's been since I passed out, but I'm betting it's been awhile. I feel like I've been out for days.

"Emma? Hey, she's awake!" The voice sounds so far away, and I wince as they yell. Then someone comes into view, and I recognize the long brown hair that belongs to Elena.

"Elena?" I say, my voice scratchy and barely emanating.

"Shh. Don't try to talk yet. Can someone bring a glass of water?" She calls over her shoulder, causing me to wince at the loud noise again.

Someone bursts through the door, and with immense relief and apprehension, I recognize Stiles. He's clearly relieved, partially worried, and unsure. His face says it all. I give him a small smile that falls almost immediately. He returns the gesture, coming to sit on the bed next to me.

Scott comes bursting through the door next, a glass of water in one hand. He quickly rushes over and hands me the glass. I drain it in a matter of seconds, immensely thirsty. I hand the empty glass back to Scott, who sets in on the desk behind him and wraps me in a hug. It's comforting, and I squeeze him back tightly as I feel tears prick my eyes. No matter what, my brother has my back.

"What happened?" I finally ask, releasing Scott and leaning back.

The three of them exchange nervous looks.

"What? I know that look. Something is wrong. What happened?" I demand, feeling a bit of strength flood my veins.

Elena clears her throat. "You were out for a long time. Hours. We thought..." She trails off, clearly upset.

"Hell, we didn't know what to think." Stiles runs his hands through his hair. It's then that I notice how much of a mess they look, like they haven't slept in days.

"I'm sorry, I-I have no idea what happened."

"It was Lydia." Stiles says bitterly. His tone of voice surprises me. He's never been cross when talking about Lydia. Jealously and hurt flood through me as I remember seeing the two of them together last night, even though it wasn't real. "She put something in the drinks and poisoned everybody."

At that, I sit up fast. My head reels, but I push down the nausea. "Do we know why?"

Everybody shakes their heads. Scott sighs. "Not yet. She hasn't been home for us to ask, and she's not answering her phone."

"Is everybody else okay? People were seriously freaking out because of that stuff."

Elena nods. "They're fine. Nobody reacted like you did."

I flop back against the pillows. "I don't know what happened." I whisper, tears surfacing once more.

"We'll figure it out. Stefan is out looking for Lydia now. I tried to contact Derek, but he's not answering any of my calls or texts." Scott says. "Matt's out looking too. He called Tyler, but Tyler said Derek disappeared from the subway station last night and hasn't been back since. They're all out looking."
