Bertholdt x Reader - Giant

Again, this story might contain some spoilers so don't read if you don't want to be spoiled!

One minute, Bertholdt was there in front of you, and the next, a giant titan appeared.

Your body was stiff as you held onto the neck of the colossal titan. No, it was Bertholdt. You held onto him as he kicked away the titans.

You were uneasy being so high up so you closed your eyes and waited for it to be over. You just wanted to get off and be on flat ground. You wanted the fighting to stop, you just wanted to be safe and away from the titans.

Bertholdt stopped all his movements and was standing still. You noticed how part of his limbs had steamed as if it had fallen off from fighting the smaller titans. Bertholdt was now wobbling back and forth slightly before falling on one knee. You were tossed off balance but managed to get back. You decided that maybe you should get off and so you jumped. You used your maneuver gear on the body of the colossal titan, hoping it wouldn't hurt Bertholdt.

As you landed on the ground, it seemed like an explosion boomed behind you. As you turned, the titan was no longer there. Instead you saw Bertholdt kneeling on the ground. You ran to him and supported his weak body.

"Bertholdt, hey." You wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "Just take a seat here.." you gently pushed him back so that he could rest his legs.

"_______.." he coughed out. "Are you hurt?"

"No, I'm fine.." you answered.

"That's good.." his lips formed a smile.

"Bertholdt, I didn't know-"

"That I was a titan shifter too..?" He interrupted.

"Yeah.. I don't know there were others besides Eren.."

"There's me too.." he replied.

"That means.." you held your tongue. You couldn't say it. You couldn't talk about the breach in the wall. "That means there must be more like you, huh?"

"I don't know.." Was all he said.

"Well Bertl, you shouldn't have gone through all that trouble just to save me.." You reached for the bangs that stuck to his forehead. "That was dangerous, you know..?"

"I'm sorry.." He put his hand over your hand. "I needed to protect you.."

"But it took so much out of you!"

"Doesn't matter. As long as you're still alive, I'm happy.." He fought to sit up on his own.

"Be careful.." you helped support him.

"Thanks.." He was now up on his own. "_______.." he looked down.

"Yeah, Bertholdt?"

"I love you.." He said. "That's why I was willing to save you, even if it meant I had to go into my titan form.."

You smiled and leaned close to him. "I mean that much to you, huh..?"

"Of course!" He turned to you. "I love you so much. I couldn't bear the thought of losing you.." he confessed.

"Bertholdt.." You wrapped your arms around him. "I love you too.."
