There was a smile on Lauren's face as she watched Camila helping Alex with his Spanish homework.

It still felt like a dream to her. The fact she ended up marrying Camila, the fact they are happy and that they have their own little family. It felt so surreal.

She felt someone tapping her leg and focused her attention to the small ball of fur that was getting comfortable just sitting there.

"Mommy, have you seen Cottonball? He—" Lexa stops herself midsentence when she sees the subject of her needs lying on Lauren's leg "play with me."

Lauren lets out a chuckle and shakes her head.

"He's tired Lexi, let him be."

"But I wanna play with him." Lexi pouts

"Why don't you play with me?"

"Can we play Uno?" Lexi asks excitedly

"Of course we can princess. Alex, Camzi, would you like to join us for a round or two of Uno?"

"Yes!" Alex nods his head immediately "Mommy, did you know Uno means one in Spanish? Isn't that cool?"

"I did know that bug, but it is really cool. You know more Spanish than your dad does."

"Does dad not know Spanish?"

Lauren thinks about the few sentences she had taught Nick how to say, and they're not very appropriate for her children to know.

"No, he doesn't know that much." She replies as she watches her daughter rummaging through the drawers of their desk so she can find Uno cards

"Love, they are in your room, we played it last week, did you forget?" Camila finally reminds her

"Facepalm." Lexi mumbles before going back to her room

The older Cubans exchange the knowing look before speaking in unison. "Dinah."

Once Alex wins his third game in the row, Lexi decides she doesn't want to play anymore and that she'd rather watch Princess Moana again. Camila rolls with it while Alex and Lauren go to the kitchen to prepare some fruit salad for them all.

"Mommy?"

"Yes bug?" Lauren looks at her son

He's exactly half her and half his father, and the best part is, the lines are so blurry and you can't really say which part belongs to whom.

"Am I weird?"

"Of course you're not, why?"

"In school, some boy told me I'm weird because—because I don't play with other boys and because I don't talk much and—and because—" Alex closed his eyes tightly to suppress the tears

"Hey, hey, come here." Lauren says as she kneels down and opens her arms so she can hug her son "Baby, listen to me, okay?"

Alex looks at her and nods his head.

"You're not weird. You're different, in a good way. Remember what we told you? It's boring to be normal. We talked about this already, do you remember?"

Alex nods his head once again. "Y—yes. When—when aunt Mani got Lia."

"Yes, exactly. They are different. But that's okay. Because now Lia has someone who loves her and aunt Mani has someone she loves unconditionally. And people look at them weird because aunt Mani's skin is dark and Lia has tiny eyes—"
