"Yeah, I'll have the Italian Hero," Teagan said, tapping on the glass between her and the sandwich ingredients. "and my... friend... will have the Veggie Delite."
The guy who was making Teagan and Nettie's sandwiches smiled. "Huh, sorry if this is rude, but I thought you guys were dating or something. I mean, if you're not that's fine too."
"Oh, we are dating." Teagan admitted. "I didn't want to be denied service..."
"I think that's illegal or something, actually." The guy walked to the cash register and rung up their orders. "That'll be seven forty nine. If you guys ever need help in case some homo-assholes get you in trouble, I'm always here. My name's Mason." He grinned and waved goodbye.
As Teagan and Nettie walked out of the Subway store, Teagan frowned. "He was totally hitting on you."
