PART TWO 'BLACK' - CHAPTER SEVEN (contains light swearing)
The raven-haired girl was sitting at her desk, tapping her freshly painted nails along the edge of the wooden tabletop as she waited for the screen on her monitor to load. She looked at the mini safe underneath, sighing at the sight of it. A notification sound dinged, the sound emitting from the laptop cueing Alice to look up.
JugJones01: Can we talk?
"'Can we talk?'" Alice repeated aloud, "Can we fucking talk?"
Ali: How about no.
JugJones01: Please. It's important.
Alice laughed bitterly. "It's always important with him, isn't it?" She thought aloud.
Ali: 4:00 pm. You know where.
As she hit send, she closed the laptop shut, logging off for the day. She sighed, running her hands through her dark hair. She needed advice, and she knew exactly where to get it from. Picking up her phone, she dialed the number.
"Hey, Veronica?"
