All this time, Albus had been worrying away, panicking over his feelings, and how Scorpius would respond.

But, then when Scorpius had leaned forward...

It was as if fireworks were exploding, a collection of multicoloured hues shooting across the midnight sky, flying past the twinkling stars and the shining moon.

It was like nothing Albus had experienced before.

And now Scorpius was gone, a flower that fluttered away in the violent breeze.

And it was up to Albus Potter to find him.

It was dark in the shed.

Shadows reached out with their sharp claws, taking on the face of Draco Malfoy. They whispered to Scorpius, creeping into his mind and heart.

In this story, there was no princess for him to save. He was the one who needed saving, forever waiting for someone to drag him out of the dark hole.

Scorpius shuddered, inching away, huddling up against the door. Shying away from the onyx darkness that twisted and writhed in the shed, and curled up into a ball, chest heaving.

Although he was embarrassed to admit it, he was scared of the dark. He didn't know what was out there, what was waiting for him. He was terrified of the unknown.

Suddenly, a noise shattered the silence, causing Scorpius' heart to jump about.

Creak.

Crreaakk.

Arms wrapped around him, squeezing his body, and Scorpius writhed, desperately attempting to get out of the grip. "No! No! Please, no..." He sobbed.

The arms released, falling from their hold. "Scorpius?"

The young Malfoy inhaled, shuddering. "Albus? What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to find you." It was more of a question then a statement, with a puzzled tone. "Are you okay?"

Scorpius couldn't hold back the bitterness and scarcasm that seeped into his voice. "What do you think?"

Although he couldn't see in the dark shed, he could feel the hurt radiating off his best friend. "I-I just wanted to know that you were okay."

"Well, I'm fine, okay? I just really want to be alone right now."

It was silent in the shed for a few beats, marred only by the boys' breathing.

Then Albus uttered three words that Scorpius unconsciously needed, words that made everything better, words that mended his bruises and fixed his broken heart.

"I love you."
